She lost her job in April and first learned about QAnon on Tik Tok which led her to YouTube. She became obsessed with it. She was never political and just voted straight ticket because that’s what her family did. She did not watch the news or read a newspaper because it was all fake news.
She expected Trump to declare martial law, arrest all Democrats, the elites, Hollywood etc and imprison them at the newly reopened ( never closed) Guantanamo Bay.
Instead, Trump lost and she panicked. Biden was going to turn the US into a communist country and everyone would die. She intended to pull her kid out of school. Her mother talked sense into her.
Given the source ( CNN) I fully expect some to claim it’s BS.
There are countless stories of people that have hopped in the QAnon rabbit hole and many are still lost. Some are coming out of it. People don't realize how many people were sucked in-- it was massive.
It really went mainstream in May timeframe. FB posts linked to youtube videos. It was bad.
