Presidents should be appointed by the states, not elected.
That's it. That's the post.

Your post is a logical fallacy. Post it as a question to avoid ridicule. Try something like: Should COTUS be amended so that Presidents would be appointed by the states, not elected. Or was that not your intent?
You do realize that a popular vote would mean the most populous 5 or 6 states would determine the presidency? The Electoral College is there for a reason and it's just as valid now as it was 200+ years ago.
Not necessarily. If they were politically even they cancel each other out. States often change their political majority over time.
I have a better idea. Let's have a lottery system. If your number is pulled, you have to be president. No matter what. Even if you don't want to. Or else you face prison time, and then we still make you president.
After I posted my post above, I was thinking of something similar. Every 4 years a random registered voter gets to choose who is president. They can choose anybody who wants to be president, except themselves. But if their name is selected they HAVE to choose someone.
Senators should be appointed by the states, not elected
Ah, an originalist.
Senators were appointed before 1913 and the 17th amendment.
I'd rather we abolish the senate all together and go to a parliamentary system. 3rd parties suddenly could exist.
