Your post is a logical fallacy. Post it as a question to avoid ridicule. Try something like: Should COTUS be amended so that Presidents would be appointed by the states, not elected. Or was that not your intent?

Not necessarily. If they were politically even they cancel each other out. States often change their political majority over time.

Interestingly, Trump made the same point when he tried to get the Georgia AG to "find" him 11,000 more votes.

After I posted my post above, I was thinking of something similar. Every 4 years a random registered voter gets to choose who is president. They can choose anybody who wants to be president, except themselves. But if their name is selected they HAVE to choose someone.

What happens when "I" votes R and "I alone" votes D? I guess that make "me" the deciding vote.

Ah, an originalist.

Senators were appointed before 1913 and the 17th amendment.

I'd rather we abolish the senate all together and go to a parliamentary system. 3rd parties suddenly could exist.
