Now it's official: If you're a duly elected U.S. Representative, hold opinions that Democrats don't like and don't want people to hear, you can kiss your committee assignments good-by. Along with any chance of having ANY effect on legislation outside of your vote.

Doesn't matter if your constituents voted you into office by a landslide, in full knowledge of your opinions. You just got demoted to the bottom of the hierarchy. The House parakeet now has more power than you.

Democrats aren't tolerating ANY more opinions they don't like.

Dem-led House, drawing a line, kicks Greene off committees

by Alan Fram, Brian Slodysko, Kevin Freking
February 4, 2021 at 5:13 AM CST - Updated February 4 at 5:58 PM

WASHINGTON (AP) — A fiercely divided House tossed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene off both her committees Thursday, an unprecedented punishment that Democrats said she’d earned by spreading hateful and violent conspiracy theories.

Underscoring the political vise her inflammatory commentary has clamped her party into, nearly all Republicans voted against the Democratic move but none defended her lengthy history of outrageous social media posts.

Yet in a riveting moment, the freshman Republican from a deep-red corner of Georgia took to the House floor on her own behalf. She offered a mixture of backpedaling and finger-pointing as she wore a dark mask emblazoned with the words “FREE SPEECH.”

The chamber’s near party-line 230-199 vote was the latest instance of conspiracy theories becoming pitched political battlefields, an increasingly familiar occurrence during Donald Trump’s presidency. He faces Senate trial next week for his House impeachment for inciting insurrection after a mob he fueled with his false narrative of a stolen election attacked the Capitol.

"Opinions they don't like" such as liberals should be rounded up and executed.

When will conservatives realize there's a difference between opinion/policy position and desire to oppress/kill people just because they don't look, think, and act like them?

Given that Greene declared open war on Democrats by openly advocating for their execution, I'd say you have the "declaration" part wrong.

She got off easy. No committee work and hang out and vote.

Seems to be her speed.

The Democratic party seeks to be a dictatorship, they decide what can be said and believed. The dictator party members are allowed to say and believe anything they want of course.

I guess you missed it where she admitted all the things she said were false.

Oh come on, you are joking.

We all know the crazy stuff this woman believed--lasers starting fires in CA, school kids were never murdered, 911 never happened...

I just saw her on tv, trying to convince Congress that she's changed. Too late. And she didn't sound very convincing either. No political party should allow someone who is that easily led and who can't think, serve on committees. The woman needs psychiatric help and is in no way sane enough to serve in the US Congress.

She is clearly unfit, so no problem with that decision. Now let's see if they can be consistent. I would think that someone who makes a false accusation of attempted murder against one of their colleagues is also clearly unfit.

Republicans could have handled MTG. Instead, they literally gave her a standing ovation.
