Threads like this go to show how intolerant much of the GOP has become. Trump is their messiah, and anybody who does not bow down and worship him is an apostate.

The RNC literally did not have a platform for the 2020 election....other than being loyal to Trump. This is classic neo-fascism.

No, it's about the HATRED of one dude and trying to tie the entire opposition to that dude. And he thinks he can advance his political career by playing the left's game on their terms without actually becoming one of them. Well, good luck with that.

He does not get to walk this off. Sasse voted to acquit Trump in the first impeachment. Changing is tune now will not change how he will be defined in history. Had Trump been removed back in early 2020 we would have never had to deal with the current issues right now. Sasse is responsible for it too.

No, Sasse is a principled conservative republican and simply does not want his party to turn into a Cult of Trump, which he fears is happening.

A "principled conservative Republican" would have the balls to stand up for his party against the Scorched Earth recrimination campaign the Democrats are currently engaged in rather than giving them exactly what they want. They (and you) will instantly turn on him again the minute he's no longer useful to their cause -- see the post above yours for a sample.

Yes, Sasse is much more conservative than Trump.
