What word should they have used to indicate the election was mad more secure? That is what the article is about, after all. Fortify seems to be accurate.

I'm still smh at why people find it so hard to believe the MORE people voted against Trump than for him. Trump was detestable, offensive, debased his office with daily lies and obnoxious rhetoric - and, even worse, he was corrupting and destroying every department in government. People who voted against Trump voted FOR the survival of this country.

Seven million people voted AGAINST Trump and FOR the United States.

Why is that so hard to comprehend?

Quite an admission here. Why do you think they are coming out with this now?
Can you post the actual article from Time. Thanks

Nearly 200 years ago, the French diplomat Alexis de Tocqueville observed that democracy in America would survive only so long as the masses could be restrained from looting the Treasury via the ballot box.

But Tocqueville could not have foreseen Big Tech and Mass Electronic Media.

Over the years, we have been successful in broadening the electoral base, while walking the fine line between rule by the responsible majority, and rule by the mob -- until now.

The majority who recognize what we all have to lose need, and deserve to be protected from the gang in search of anything to loot, and those who would lead them around by the nose.

From the article:
Quote:
The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted.

“Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated,” says Ian Bassin, co-founder of Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan rule-of-law advocacy group.

“But it’s massively important for the country to understand that it didn’t happen accidentally. The system didn’t work magically.

Democracy is not self-executing.”
Can't be any plainer than that. To invent another meaning for the word "fortify" is to intentionally misrepresent.

Oh, the GOP has done a fine job of looting with the 2017 Tax Legislation, the result of which has been a buildup of $1T deficit - and that was BEFORE COVID. I wonder how much further they intend to plunder and who they will next rob when the US is bankrupt?

It would be much easier to finance a proper COVID recovery program had the deficit/debt not exploded thanks to the McConnell/Trump tax giveaway. GOP worrying NOW about the cost is really rich.

Rank hypocrisy, since they've already bled the Treasury dry.

Are they confessing to this as a way to take the focus off the actual voter fraud?

There was no voter fraud. I truly believe if Trump took this virus seriously from day one, he would have been re elected. He screwed it up though.
