So he's saying that if you make $14.50/hr, you live below the poverty line......

Which is absolute nonsense unless you're supporting a family of five.
The left uses class warfare, false victims and deceit. Nothing new.

So what does this mean?(from the article):

Quote:
“That’s what it means, if you work for less than $15 an hour and work 40 hours a week, you’re living in poverty.”

Why $15/hr?

Why not 10?

Why not 25?

Who pulled $15/hr..... more than doubling the current minimum wage, out of their ass?

It makes no sense, especially in some states vs others.
From it's inception if min. wage kept up with productivity, it would be around $24/hr. If it kept up with inflation, it would be around $12/hr, so the $15/hr proposed is a conservative compromise.

Except only 2% of US workers make the federal minimum wage and half are under 25 years old. Leave this up to state and local governments where it belongs. A key thing to remember is the real minimum wage is always 0.

How is that relevant to the fact that minimum wage has lagged woefully behind what it should be?

Is that a serious question?

Why should someone who has no experience, no skills whatsoever that are necessary to do a job be paid $30k+ per year?
