What needs to be done to democratize that country? What past tactics have worked in other countries that were one-party states?

China was actually moving in that direction before the CCP released the virus. I am of Chinese descent and my parents still have some distant relatives in China even though they had left to escape communism and socialism, part of why I'm strongly Republican and anti-leftist in all aspects. They said that despite what the US media says, the feeling on the street in China is that Trump not only won the trade war, the Communist Party had their a___ handed to them. The terms were in fact much more favorable to the US than to China.

Now in China there was an unspoken pact where the government would provide economic prosperity and in return the people won't agitate for political freedom, but with the trade war lost, there was increasing protests in China and not just in Hong Kong whose autonomy the Chinese government is NOT respecting. The virus gave the Chinese government a reason to shut down the country and stop the protests, and at the same time create a worldwide economic crisis to "level the playing field". So I do believe that the Chinese government purposely released the virus from the Wuhan lab for these reasons in order to maintain power and to mitigate the effects of them losing the trade war to President Trump.

Of course Sleepy Joe is very friendly to China and supports leftism and socialism at home as he attacks American workers, goes against Christians and promotes more and more leftist policies.

Obama said that about Cuba when he dropped trade and visitation restrictions on that country. Castro said Obama was full of excrement

It can't. They may end up imposing their communist/totalitarian ideology on us.

Why do you care if it is democratized or not? Do you think that should be up to those who live there?

Absolutely! In any case, it is up to the young Chinese people to do something about it if they think it is warranted.

They tried that in 1989, and we all saw how the CCP dealt with it. Since then the government has created a surveillance state to ensure that type of populism will never be repeated.

Here in the USA’s Walled City, our elites are busy copying the Chinese model.

The citizenry would have to be willing to engage in an armed revolt against the CCP.

If I had to guess, the CCP has most if not all of the weapons.

Capitalism will ultimately lead to greater liberties in China. It's harder to control the middle class than the serfs.

There's a strong positive correlation between economic prosperity and individual liberty. They feed off each other.

The People of China needs to change it. The USA should have absolutely nothing to do with it but perhaps be a model of ambition.... Well lately that might not be such a great idea because those looking to make changes have been rioting in the streets and causing Billions in damage.

China would do what America should have done when the peaceful protests turned into riots.

Why don't we tackle the problems here before trying to influence other countries that most likely don't want the "help" but they will certainly take our money.
