I will never touch the product again. Their public display of political correctness is disgusting. Let the woke buy it.
This company will join Target, Nike, Gillette, Dicks sporting Goods, the NFL and NASCAR as being on a list of organizations that have made a show of their leftism and wokeness. I have no interest in spending my money and time on leftists. I make a point not to support the nations enemies, either internal or external. Leftists are enemies of our country.
So you'll give up something that you have enjoyed all your life over a name change. That's your choice but why do you care about what is obvious a marketing issue and not a political statement? It must be getting to be a bare bone existence if anyone who doesn't think or act like you is now a leftist and on your avoidance list....
My office is adjacent to our IP attorney's office. I know exactly what branding means.
Please let me know what, in my post, was incorrect. The image on the box does not have any effect on the ingredients therein. A publicly advertised name change does not affect the product.
So all of the people here with the fake outrage can keep their Aunt Jemima boxes and simply throw out the new box and put the product in the old box. Problem solved.
Do you think people who have bought Aunt Jemima products most of their lives are go immediately look for a product called Pearl Milling Company? You’ve alienated people who think this was a stupid move then you’ve taken away brand recognition from those who could care less. Yeah dumb move...
Uncle Ben left on the same train as Aunt Jemima..goodbye lifetime icons..hello to the new marketing world where everything blends together into oblivion..
I’m not sure I’d really be all that bothered. Why tie yourself to something which at its root is designed to do little more than part you from your money? That’s all these brands ever were.

It's more to it than that

One thing I'm certain of is that Quaker Oats Company, the parent to Aunt Jemima, has the resources to study any business decision. One would assume that they did their due diligence and weighed public perception of a brand name that some may view as racist versus an ambiguous brand name.

That only applies when the change is in support of their position, any removal of ties to the Old South is heresy and a continuation of the erasure of their heritage. Even though Aunt Jemima is the poster girl for Mammy and the rest of stereotypes....

So what? You use stereotypes, false ones at that, about conservatives all the time. At least that stereotype was true. There were many, many Black nannies and "Aunts" to white families in the north and south for a very long time. They're still around too.
You're just a dishonest, racist hypocrite, but you must know that by now and just comfortable with it.

Lol you think big companies like Quaker Oars are immuned from making bad marketing decisions?
