Social Media App Parler Is Back Online, With New Hosting Service

Parler [pronounced like "Par-lay"), a social media platform favored by conservatives, resumed service on Feb. 15 with new management—coming about a month after Amazon Web Services suspended the site from its servers.
The company moved to a new server farm, said interim Chief Executive Mark Meckler in a statement. He said that new users should be able to sign up for the service within a week or so. “We are off of the Big Tech platform, so that we can consider ourselves safe and secure for the future,” Meckler said in the release. He didn’t disclose which service provider is hosting Parler.
“Cancel culture came for us, and hit us with all they had. Yet we couldn’t be kept down. We’re back, and we’re ready to resume the struggle for freedom of expression, data sovereignty, and civil discourse. We thank our users for their loyalty during this incredibly challenging time,” part owner Dan Bongino said in the release.
Good for them. Hopefully this is a lesson for them to make sure they actually understand the terms of service for their suppliers and service providers going forward.
I also hope for the company's long term viability they have resolved the security issues they saw as well. It looks like the new hosting is with a California based company (SkySilk), so I'm glad Parler is finding use from the advancements we see in that state.
Well, for what it's worth, Parler.com is back online. As we saw with Gab.com, LBRY.com, Rumble, Telegram and all the other alternative social media sites after January 6th, the site is slow and crappy. Too much traffic and not enough time for the company to scale things accordingly. But Parler is back.
The divergence of worlds will continue apace I expect. Since politically Right opinions are unwelcome on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. the Right has no choice. They do as the Left told them and build their own everything.

Parler is now using SkySilk, a southern CA based hosting service.
This event basically threw their entire anti-trust argument against Amazon out the door.
On the flip side, it looks like SkySilk only offer VPS (individual private server), not the server-farm technology that AWS offers. So the performance will suffer if enough people accesses Parler at the same time.
Gives the FBI and NSA a much easier way to keep track of all the far-right, violent extremists and helps monitor their next terror attacks against the United States.
I'm surprised anyone was using it. It's absolutely amazing and astonishing what a few "celebrity" endorsements, content creators and advertising does for a social media platform.
It's genuinely disturbing "we" can all act like it's always been this big thing. When it isn't even now.
