Apparently, no one even noticed this after 13 home games this pre and regular season.
Seems like Mark wants it both ways.
He says the right things publicly to kowtow to the 'woke' movement, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did this just to prevent morons from kneeling and grandstanding over the National Anthem in the future (few years ago when this kneeling nonsense started in earnest, I believe Mark actually voiced support for players standing before the Anthem with hands over their hearts).
The Dallas Mavericks have stopped playing the national anthem before home games at the direction of owner Mark Cuban, he confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.
The Mavericks do not plan to resume the tradition to play the national anthem before games in the future.
Cuban, who declined further comment, made the decision after consulting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver. The Mavericks did not announce the change in policy, but the national anthem has not been played before any of their 13 preseason and regular-season games at the American Airlines Center this season.
No players, coaches or staffers from other teams have mentioned the change, according to a team source.
Here comes the posters who don't watch the NBA, yet say they're outraged about this and will loudly proclaim they won't watch any more. Lol
National Anthems in the NBA & NHL were always weird with how international the sport is. Then you have the whole strict cultural ritual around the national anthem as of late. Everyone must stand, take off your hat, place your hand on heart, look serious, stare at a piece of cloth while someone sings a song.
If someone doesn't follow the rules exactly then a large group of people will become so offended that they will publicly denounce you and announce to everyone they no longer will support you or the sport (but will tune in next week anyways).
I was in a school working a couple years ago & forgot students still have to do the pledge of allegiance. It felt so corny & out of place like the national anthem. I guess I never actually thought about the words as a kid, but it's weird they're making kids pledge allegiance to a flag. A flag?!
It’s because it honors America, and thus offends the radical left.
And, oddly, the "right" didn't even notice. Crazy how that works.
It literally took this article for the "fake outrage" and "I'm not watching Mark Cuban, the Maverics, NBA" quotes to start.
