Yes (OP), as then Commander-in-Chief, a proven orator, and the ability to get other people, to do things that they wouldn't ordinarily do, ... Yes, I do believe that he convinced those who listen to him, to attack, to riot, and attempt to "capture" the Capitol-US Congress. He almost won the election legitimately, and he should very proud to accomplish that much.

Trump's message from day one has been that he is above the law. He can shoot someone with no repercussions. Go ahead and beat up a protester... he will post bail and get a lawyer. When you are a celebrity you can get away with anything. Any election that doesn't go his way is rigged. Martial law might make things go his way. Pence is a traitor for upholding the constitution. The Democrats are all traitors. He is the rightful winner by a landslide and the certification must be stopped.
That is the message that his mob has been hearing for four years and especially leading up to and since the election. His supporters tried to kidnap and kill the Governor of Michigan. In order to do Trump's will, in order to keep him in power, they knew what they had to do because Trump told them. The constitution carries no weight because Trump has such privilege that it can be ignored, kicked to the curb. The traitors to Trump had to be stopped, killed if need be - Pence, Pelosi, Schumer, cops, anyone. Trump called them to DC, encouraged them at the rally, and cheered them on. He intentionally orchestrated the entire episode. He deserves much worse than what Senate conviction will bring.
How anybody doesn’t blame him is baffling. It was laid out very clearly everything trump did to incite. From the tweets months before making baseless claims around fraud, to his rally’s stating the only way he would lose is if the election was rigged to the day of the storming the Capitol when he said March down to the Capitol.
He didn’t help himself any by telling the insurrectionists he loved them. He didn’t do anything to stop, and he had the power. Instead he sat back, and let it all unfold.
I put complete blame on the people who were participating. Do you blame your pencil when a word is misspelled or blame your spoon because you picked up 25 pounds?

The people who participated do deserve blame and must be held accountable but there is such a thing as accessory to a crime, and those who facilitate it.
Trump could never be criminally convicted for his comments as "incitement". Whether he can be impeached is different entirely.
Another interesting point, is did Trump believe the election was stolen. If he did, and intent is always important, his comments cannot be considered irresponsible or impeachable.

You clearly aren't an attorney, but that doesn't matter. Call up Trump and offer him your services since his lawyers aren't doing him any favors.

1/6 doesn't happen if Trump doesn't run his mouth since 2016 about any election he loses being fixed. Remember when he claimed his now consort Ted Cruz stole Iowa? Trump has a moral responsibility for the consequences of his behavior.
His apparent failure to respond to the riot once it started may expose him criminally. Whoever may prosecute that case will have to schedule it with the various other criminal charges he may face for finance fraud, election fraud, and hopefully for the whole hair and fake tan fraud.
OK that last is only criminal aesthetically, but it's still part of a pattern. Donny's a bad guy and always has been. He's a good showman, if you like vulgarity and want to offer proof for the PT Barnum hypothesis. But it appears he was just a bit over his head in his last gig, as were those who chose so unwisely to hire him.
