He was pissed because he tried to get Trump to hire him as campaign manager but was rejected.

Answering part of the question - where did the money go?

Millions raised by Lincoln Project went to companies run by group’s founders

Out of roughly $90 million the anti-Trump Lincoln Project has raised, more than half has gone to firms run by the group’s founders, according to open records data reviewed by Fox Business.

...
The vast majority of the cash was split among consulting firms controlled by its founders, including about $27 million paid to a small firm controlled by Galen and another $21 million paid to a boutique firm run by former Lincoln Project member Ron Steslow, campaign finance disclosures show.

It continues to get worse... now there is an accusation from another minor, and the founders likely knew since March of 2020.

Heck - Rove said he knew about the guy since 1998.

Nolte – Report: Second Underage Boy Accuses Lincoln Project Cofounder of Harassment

During an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News program, journalist Ryan Girdusky said, “I’m here to say I have made contact with another minor who was sexually harassed by John Weaver. He is still a minor today… John Weaver aggressively sexually harassed him.”

He added, “The allegations involving minors are now multiple, and there’s possibly more to come.”

...
Girdusky clarified that these are not just verbal accusations. The alleged harassment involves direct messages by way of Twitter from Weaver to these young men. If they are indeed from Weaver, this is written proof of his behavior.

If accurate - Can somebody please sue Twitter for allowing this to occur? Pretty please?

Some Lincoln Project founders knew about sexual harassment allegations as early as March

Some of the individuals came forward with new details on Monday after they were released from their nondisclosure agreements. Several said Sarah Lenti, a managing partner with the group who was previously its executive director, knew about the allegations against Weaver as early as May 2020. Lenti confirmed that some of the group’s co-founders knew about the allegations as early as March 2020. Schmidt and Galen were among those who knew, multiple sources said.

Now this is interesting...

Then, the Jerusalem Post reported early Tuesday that Israeli prime ministerial hopeful Gideon Sa’ar, who is challenging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in next month’s election there, would also cut ties.

Sa’ar’s campaign had just last month hired Galen, Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson and Stuart Stevens, the Lincoln Project’s remaining top consultants, in a bid to apply their anti-Trump playbook to Netanyahu. Their work in Israel was part of a broader expansion into international politics, with one entity related to this effort being registered just last week.

Only one solution to this: build a database of Lincoln Project officials & staff that will detail their roles in the fraud and cover-up & track where they are now. No personal info, only professional. But they should be held accountable & not allowed to pretend they were not involved.
