Sounds 'fair' to those who paid their student loans (as well as other loans) fully.

She was raised on Chicago's West Side by a single mother who worked as a housekeeper. She never met her father. "My mother believed going to college would break the cycle of trauma and poverty we were in," Lezan said.

Lezan ended up attending Benedictine University and the Art Institute of Illinois - Chicago, one of the for-profit schools that has come under fire for misleading students about programs and career outcomes. She owes more than $170,000 in student loans.

A well-paying job has been hard to find. Last year, working as an adjunct professor and freelancer, she made $28,000. "Being Hispanic and a woman, I'm up against additional obstacles," she said.

All in just two paragraphs, it explains how disconnected these Leftists are from their problem and what they think is the cause of their problem.

So she made a a bad personal choice to spend $170K on a worthless degree from a suspect institution and now she blames her failing to get a high paying job because she thinks it’s because she is “Hispanic and a woman.”

Hint: it’s been known for sometime now that there really aren’t that much demand for art /liberal arts degrees from second rate colleges. She was lucky she even made $28,000 last year. It isn’t because you were Hispanic and a woman.

If you had a degree in a field that was in demand, you would have been snatched up quickly by many companies since now many are so hungry for woman and minority applicants.

No one needs to be spending 170K on one or even two degrees. The aggregate limit for direct loans is $138,500!!!

Smells like living off of student loan stipends to me.

Equitable solution for all: Forgive equal amounts of student debt and federal tax liability. Carry forward the federal tax credit for as long as necessary. Deal?

Neither costs you any money, so no benefit for you.
