Dems are trying to allocate monies unfairly to Blue States who have accumulated financial distress for years before Covid came into play. The Pubs want the money allocated based upon population, which would be fair, but the Dems will not play fair. Instead, they want to reward wasteful overspending, in States like Illinois, California, & New York.
Elections have consequences, so bend over Pubs, next come the massive tax hikes. Spend, then tax, is the process being put into place.
The Pubs do it too when they are in power, so its not a bi-partisan thing, each side just has different causes.
Yup. They tried this in the prior COVID bills but Trump said the money had to go to COVID-related things. I remember our governor Murphy was furious because he wanted to use it to bail out the failing pension. fund. I'm selfishly okay with this though. Otherwise Trenton would raise my state taxes. Now, I get a bail out from the rest of the states that voted for Biden. Thank you.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, a Republican, called the discussion spirited and said the past aid to local governments was insufficient, so more money was needed.
Yeah, you know... just slip a couple hundred brief cases of Ben Franklins from the taxpayers under the table... (wink, wink)... it's cool. The unwashed masses are too stupid to notice or care.
This is exactly why I retired early. The Fed Gov gets MUCH less tax revenue from me, now. To the millennial college grads who voted for this? Enjoy your higher tax bills. /snicker

Yep.
If Trump’s reaction to the November election had been less childish, perhaps the Georgia runoff elections would have had different outcomes.

Huzzah for the magical deficit spending. Oh how we have enjoyed you for the last 20+ years. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
What is the issue? We already bail out most red states through redistribuion of Taxes every year.
Imagine Kentucky getting mad at California for getting 1-time bailout when Kentucky takes California money every year just to feed its citizens.
I will respect the OP's concern once ALL states pull their weight first and stop draining the Blue states on the coast.
