Kamala Harris Is Now Making Joe Biden’s Head Of State Calls For Him.
...It is bizarre for a Vice President to be making contact with key world leaders just weeks into a new administration...
Not as bizarre as a first daughter being on calls with world leaders and on occasion filling, in for her daddy. Then there the whole deal with the first son in law who could not receive clearance until his FIL intervened and then sent him all over the world doing who knows what.
Unpossible! If she made a call to a foreign head of state, where are the leaked transcripts? They leaked Trump's phone calls to the presidents of foreign nations, so where are the leaks?
When she steps in to take over as POTUS it's going to be the biggest, bestist most awsomeist I told you so in U.S. history. She'll destroy the country, but I'll get to say I told you so before she does.
Biden is getting a jump start on it for her. Gas prices already substantially higher.
I'm surprised the ultra right isn't applauding Harris for adopting the long-standing tactics of Dick Cheney.
Back in reality, the VP's role is whatever the president says it is. If Biden says "go call some foreign leaders," Harris will go call some foreign leaders.
It's neither bizarre nor unusual.
Bush used Cheney, Obama used Biden, Trump used Pence. They all did the same, and it's all part of our President's intentions to use their Vice Presidents more and more often.
Pence actually became our topmost foreign affairs dignitary abroad after Trump decided to quit going to the summit meetings and conferences.
Both parties are making the Vice President's job more important than it was in the 20th century. As the powers of the Executive Branch have expanded, a President needs more trusted executive help from his VP now.
In the past, Congress did most of that job in the Foreign Affairs Committee. Nowadays, that committee is nothing much, just a shadow of its former self.
The rest of the world has noticed this long ago. They no longer expect to have a Senator calling for some introductory stuff. It will be the Vice President, and that's part of the 21st century's job description.
Biden does have one advantage, as some of the leaders already have met him before, back in the day.
Kamala won't have to prove herself to them because they know Joe chose her.
sry, I guess you miss the news. Unlike Pence, Biden (VP), Cheney, Kamala will be on the front and center in the next few monts. Biden will not handle any calls or visits.
Biden is participating in a virtual G7 event this Friday. He’ll be “seeing” and talking to Macron and other world leaders then. The pandemic response, economic recovery, China and the climate crisis are on the agenda.

Wow. Something new and unprecedented in how a president handles things. I would never expected that, especially after the last four yea-- oh, wait.

We all saw this coming. I think I predicted by March he'd resign. Maybe he'll last a bit longer. But that explains the flurry of exec orders. She can wash her hands of them and say it was all him.
