But more than a month and an impeachment acquittal later, that has changed, a Morning Consult/Politico poll out Tuesday reveals. While just 42 percent of Republicans said they'd support Trump in a potential 2024 run just days after the riot, 54 percent said this past weekend they'd back him again — the same proportion that supported Trump in the weeks after the 2020 election.

Can disgraced former president Donald Trump be embraced again by ignorant republicans who couldn't even realize that he is a charlatan that took America for everything he could?
When the rest of Donald's women begin to sag, will their boob jobs still stand up?
Where is the National Enquirer guy who had all the dirt on Donald filed away, just waiting for "the moment" when he could monetize it?
Would silent films make a comeback if Melania as a porn actress was revived?
That's because he was more than likely an accomplice to their well orchestrated and funded coup along with multiple other high level Democrats. The walls are coming down around this charade and God will expose them all.
Of course they do! It is a measure of their critical thinking skills, personal responsibility and rationality!
They fail on all counts. Trump has shined a spotlight on the right and it isn't pretty. Uneducated, prone to irrational belief and conspiracy, lacking shame or even a sense of honor.
This is not a small slice of what we call 'the right" or a fringe element. It is the vast majority of conservatives. Any conservatives who dare to show any self-respect or honor or democratic ideals are subjected to mob action, sometimes via social media and sometimes directly in person. They are cancelled!
Then the right-wing mob bemoans "cancel culture" as if they are not doing it to themselves!
These folks are not right in the head. Decades of talk radio and right wing media have twisted them into ravenous hordes! They no longer can even separate reality from fantasy. From QAnon to the Proud Boys to the cult leader himself - Trump, there is no sanity to be found.
The good news is that there is no end in sight and they are doing this to themselves. Best to simply encourage them to destroy themselves from within. The more likely then, that the party splinters and loses power, perhaps for decades to come.

the left built its foundation on victimhood! they are banging the slavery/opression/systemic racism drum about something that happened long ago.
There was zero fraud, nor impropriety and the 2020 election was the most flawless election in history.
There was rampant fraud and impropriety, and it swung the election from a Trump landslide victory to Biden just barely winning.
Number 1 is provably false and utterly ridiculous. Number 2 is at minimum a massive overstatement, but until unbiased investigation is done, we don't know with 100% certainty that Joe Biden legitimately won. We can say that our best guess is that he legitimately won, but we don't actually know that.
As usual, sanity lies somewhere between the extremes. The riot happened because the people who felt that they were wronged were ignored.
