Biden's comments taken out of context (of course, the right wing media plays that game often).
Western democracy is, just as its says, a Western cultural norm. Historically Western-style democracy is not endemic to Asia, where authoritarian emperors, kings and dictators were the norm. Biden was right about this historic backdrop.
Biden concluded his remarks on China by saying violations of human rights are not acceptable and “there will be repercussions. And [Xi] knows that.” So, no, he did not endorse ethnic cleansing by the CCP.
It is unpleasant to think what the future will be like once the CCP runs the world's most dominant economy. We may have a lot of difficulty fighting to maintain our democracies. It's already on the edge in our country with part of the population trying to install a tyrant.

Uyghurs are living in "reeducation camps" rent free as well. And the left seems totally cool with this.

That whole townhall was a crap show. Had Trump said many of the things that Biden said it would be on the news cycle 24/7, but the mainstream media has obvious double standards.
Hey, at least when prodded, Biden said that the US would continue to speak about human rights at the UN, couldn't even say rounding up 3 million people into a concentration camp is repugnant, but rather a cultural norm.
