If you grew up with DARE programs, you're not that old.
Elections have consequences. New Jersey liberals want you hopped up on drugs.
New Jersey governor signs laws to legalize marijuana use, decriminalize possession Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law legislation setting up a recreational marijuana marketplace, decriminalizing cannabis and loosening penalties for possession. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...ssion-n1258534
Realistically... NJers are not rude. They're just tough... probably having to deal with the cities on both sides. Not everyone is cut out for Jersey and that's okay... there's softer states for those people.

Most people here wanted this, conservatives too. The question was on the ballot. The "yes" vote was overwhelming.
A hero?? For what - signing a bill the lawmakers passed two months ago? Oh yeah, that's so heroic. /sarcasm
As for the OP, now NY has no choice really but to legalize it otherwise people will just go to Jersey to buy it and they will reap all of the taxes for it.

Like they wanted it in south Dakota, but Kristi noem not only got the courts to shoot it down but said shell veto any legislation that hits her desk. You'll never be able to win over the religious right on this issue. They have cognative dissonance on this issue. When they talk about freedom its only their version of it. They're willing to ignore a majority vote because they think its wrong. Its like the poster who said everyone in new York has a gun...when laws conflict with the majority, the majority ignore them. How many people speed because of low speed limits set by city councils that dont follow the 85% rule? From my experience it happens everywhere.
Ignore the safety nannies who think they know better... Republican or Democrat. Use common sense. Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol and I have made the switch.
it's about time..it's a slow turning nationally..state by state..Biden should just go ahead and push for a national recreational legalization..it hasn't imploded Canada yet has it?..
