He knows Trump. He knows his ethics or lack thereof. He does not have to look at his financials to know if Trump likes to push the envelope financially or not. Look he was trying to his AG to all sorts of things that were not legal. If it personally benefits him he does not seem to worry about whether its right or wrong. That being said I don't think he will do more than pay a fine if that.

Capone was eventually sentenced for his tax evasion and prohibition charges.

I think for Trump he will find tenancy in a prison for a legal malfeasance .
Be it taxes or his Georgia interference.

M. Cohen can have an opinion , he though, is not able to determine how the judge will rule..nor am I.

I lost huge faith in the judicial system . Strange times we are enduring.

Don't be so naive as to pretend you don't know why trump would protect his tax returns from being made public.

Why? because the dems and media would take his ultra complex returns and create a blizzard of nuance and accusations much like harry reid did to mitt. " Mitt didn't pay tax for 10 years'

Reid admitted he did that to win an election.

Why give ammunition to your, enemies, is the proper term here.

Consider what the media and dems did to Trump over Charlotte. Given his tax returns the media would set itself on fire, hysterically claiming trump to be the incarnation of the devil and one notch below the ring of hell where Hitler now resides.

Four years of lies by elected officials and the media go unpunished legally or ethically. The US Capitol building disgraced by the presence of these democrat liars make it no longer a sacred place of democracy.

Like the merchants who turned the temple into a market place, the dems desecrate our once revered center of democracy.

Why did Trump say repeatedly before the 2016 election that he would gladly release his tax records as soon as a "routine audit" was completed? We now know that he was lying. Why didn't he claim, as you just did, that the media would distort and misrepresent his tax records so he would prefer to keep them private? That, of course, would be BS but no more BS than the "routine audit" BS. By the way, it's Charlottesville, not Charlotte.

Are you seriously claiming that you know everything about every single person who had worked for Trump and that you know how close every single one of them were to him?

Policy wise he was head and shoulders above Biden or Obama before him. Its sad to see what Biden is doing. As a person he manages to rub a lot of people the wrong way. Sure they might all be out to make a buck. But why have previous administrations not has the same problem? Everyone wants to make a buck but its the people surrounding Trump that cashed in for some reason. So many have turned on him. I have been in business forever. If you are a good person and treat people right its rare that they will turn on you. Same as a POTUS or really and position of management or authority. Even the Clintons who are very polarizing and hated by so many. Very few past acquaintances have come out with tell all books, etc . Obama never had this problem.
Lol, imagine that. Obama was treated with kid gloves by many of those around him and by the media. Trump on the other hand was derided, non stop, from the time he'd announced he was running by many on the left, the right and the media. Anyone trying to peddle dirt about Obama would have likely been ignored and the person dishing it would have likely been ostracized, while those dishing dirt about Trump were lauded. Add to that, if someone were doing something that wasn't right then it seemed that Trump would can them. Obama, he'd simply turn a blind eye to their wrong doings (like Clapper lying to Congress).

https://theweek.com/speedreads/96833...-end-jail-time

Former President Donald Trump's ex-attorney Michael Cohen told MSNBC's Katy Tur that he thinks his old client ought to start looking into getting a "custom made jumpsuit."

Cohen's prediction that Trump could wind up in jail came a few hours after the Supreme Court ruled that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance can obtain Trump's tax returns as part of New York prosecutors' investigation into his past business dealings. Cohen said he's not sure what exactly the documents may reveal, but was confident enough to claim "it does not look good for" Trump.
Be nice if the wealthy and corrupt all pay the price But I doubt it. They do not want to ever say a US president went to jail.

As always, you pretend that you were asleep for the last five+ years. If Trump had released his tax returns, NBC, NYT, WaPo, and the rest of the fake-news media would have lied about what was in it and what the implications were. By not releasing it, he eliminated that realm of lies.

It ended when the courts gave them access. All part of the legal games and now these people are themselves liable if they improperly disclose the information they are allowed to see.

Only a naïve person thinks that DJT has any detailed knowledge of his tax returns. He hires accountants to isolate him from those details, and that virtually eliminates the possibility of a DA proving intent and criminal culpability. This is just showboating by prosecutors who are likely angling for advantage in their own political careers.
And only a naïve person would believe that. Trump has control of everything in his life including his tax returns. He knows full well what's in them and that's why he has fought so hard to keep them from being released. Only an idiot would hire accountants and leave it up to them to do what they want. And Trump is no idiot.

"Realm of lies", eh? By repeatedly stating that he would release his taxes as soon as the supposed "audit" was completed he created his own "realm of lies". Or maybe you believe that his taxes are still under audit--after ten years.

An audit definitely can drag out,” said Francine Lipman, a law professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a certified public accountant. “But not 10 years. That doesn’t pass the smell test.”
