There are no "mutated strains". Its called the flu or seasonal colds. Cases are dropping because they're no longer using inaccurate testing and people have herd immunity after having gotten it already. Now they'll sucker people into getting the vaccines and give that credit for the drop in cases.

Oh, and this home grown strain is just as contagious as the UK strain; more bad news - vaccine/anti-body is less effective against it.

If it spreads in CA, it will spread to the rest of the country.

And if the CA strain meets the UK strain and mutate into a new more powerful strain, it's not going to be pretty, even if the vaccine keeps rolling. It's really just a matter of time before the this new power strain emerges, if not already here.

And then there are people who keep saying CA should have stayed open like Florida. If you ever wonder why we are one of the worst hit countries, look no further than the idiots in that party.
Biden should restrict domestic/international travel to and from California.

Breaking news! Virus' can and do mutate and vaccines are not effective and there's nothing we can do to stop that. Other news...water and dirt make mud.

It's almost like these "scientists" and "public health experts" sitting in academia are conjuring up all these small mutation changes to justify for stimulus to keep them and their universities rich with all that stimulus out of thin air.

California COVID-19 situation was brought on by the crowded living environments because of the high cost of housing from Democratic regulations.

The "scientists", "public health experts" and" politicians" are not trusted by many anymore. They aren't letting a pandemic go to waste.

Conflicting messages day in and day out. If there is new mutations, all they can do is adjust vaccines.

With nearly a year of lockdowns in much of the country, there is not much that can be done now regardless of the mutation other then change the vaccine formula for the possibly annual vaccine.

I think it is interesting every single day they come out with something new.

California is a viral petri-dish. Lots of multi-generational households, huge families, crowded schools.

Who knows what it going to happen anymore? Many of these "scientists" thoeries usually seem to be wrong.

Cases may go up or they may go down. It may mutate alot or might not.

No matter how elitest "scientists" sitting around in their white-coats in ivory-tower academia the virus is going to mutate regardless.

America has been socialist since 1933, and especially after FICA.
That's when Americans embraced the notion it was a good thing that government TAKES from one to GIVE to another.
And now the socialist portion of the budget exceeds 55%. . . isn't that great?
Government efforts now concentrate on the complicated process of confiscation of surplus to fund compulsory charity.
If you're a recipient - hooray.
If you're a donor - d'oh.

Not Liberalism - Progressivism. Big difference, and the democrats seem to have embraced the latter.
