the cops are supposed to police the people, not punish. thats the jails job, and only after a judge has sanctioned such punishment.

this incident is no different than street "justice". outlaw "justice". they came of more as vigilantes or a mad mob at a lynching than police with a cool head...

Excellent post. I'd add that it's also important for us citizen's who uphold the American way against police such as these who are at odds with America, that it's important to remember that it's a local issue. It's not an issue with the system in any way more than any system is susceptible to corruption. These police officers are demonstrating that Philly tolerates corruption. However, there are plenty of cities out there that people like these wouldn't hold those positions.
