I believe is because less people are getting tested. I tested positive, and honestly, if I had not been tested, I would have just considered it an allergy attack
But I was exposed to a positive person that had to be hospitalized. Her sibling also had it and passed away
And even though I had mild symptoms, it was still scary, cuz i thought - today is the day that it gets really bad and I won't be able to breath.

Sorry about the loss of your friend. How are you feeling now? I also know a few people who tested positive with just mild allergy-like symptoms with maybe a touch of flu while others got REALLY sick. With more focus on vaccinating now, I'd think they would only test people with symptoms now but the test positivity rate is very low (3 percent) so either they are still testing for asymptomatic cases or testing people who have symptoms for other things. Daily deaths are under 2,000 now (even on peak days of Tuesdays and Wednesdays) so this trend could really be our friend with no resurge.
Vaccination of medical personal is making a huge difference.
Vaccinations of the elderly is dropping the death rate.
Its entirely possible the bad weather has kept us more isolated then normal, or that people have been more careful over time.
I chose an outlier for a reason- to demonstrate that just because one does not die does not mean millions of people don’t experience serious complications and a protracted recovery.
Good to hear you are on the mend. Curious if you intend to be vaccinated, at some fate date?
For now, no, and if nothing much changes, no. I'll reevaluate in a few months. It will depend on whether we start seeing a large number of reinfections, whether the virus mutates to be less deadly and with fewer complications (most likely) or whether it mutates to become more deadly, whether any new side effects start to manifest, etc.
I would like to see some studies on people who have contracted the virus and their recovery times, and the percentage of people who are still seeing problems a year later. I periodically try to find information like this, but it's either not out there, or I'm not using the right search terms to find what I'm looking for.
