As mayor he ran his city into the ground. His new post in Transportation however is quite appropriate since dat boy has been playing choo choo his entire adult life.

It's one of those things that shouldn't matter, but for some reason it does. Being tall = being electable. Mayor Pete is 5'9". It's not impossible for the short guy to win. Jimmy Carter and Harry Truman were about the same height. But they're also the only two president's who were shorter than 5'10" going all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt. Since Jimmy Carter, every elected president has been about 6' tall or taller. Because we can see our presidents on television, the biological tendency to assume that "taller = stronger" inevitably kicks in.

Whether being gay would have hurt Buttigieg is hard to say, but I expect that many would have voted against the man for no other reason. Still, there's a good chance that it would help him. Many Americans of all skin colors voted for Barack Obama because he was black and for no other reason. The same phenomenon may have occurred for a gay candidate.

Obama isn't wrong. It's just wrong for him to point it out in the insane PC culture we live in.

President Obama should know better. Also, if Trump said it the mainstream media would propagandize it, when Obama says it is ignored or excused.

Obama, shortly before the presidential campaigns, said he doesn't think Biden should run.

But he is gay. I would have voted for him without question, but I know my neighbors here in lower redneckistan, and the fact that Buttigieg is gay would set them off worse than having a mixed race president, whom they STILL want to believe was born in Kenya.

Yes, realistically those people would not vote for Buttigieg. They would not support any gay running for president. They WOULD support a tax cheating money laundering carpetbagging swindler from Manhattan who porks porn stars while his third wife is laden with child, but not a Rhodes Scholar and war veteran from Indiana, when they realize he is gay.
Wow, your standards for "brilliant" must be awfully low.
Just what has the failed mayor of a third rate city done to be labeled as such?
Of course, being "gay" matches one of the Democratic Socialist Party's,many, many ID politics categories.
He's an empty suit; a mile wide & an inch deep.
