Too bad the video didn’t start earlier to show what set things off but it looked like the employee landed the first swing. I’m surprised there were that many trashy women in one place to jump into the brawl.
Local PD attributing the start to a customer aggressively cutting the line.
The brawl is not being attributed to race or masks.
As with most cell phone video, it’s rare to see what happened immediately prior to hell breaking loose.
I've lived 60+ years and never have i personally witnessed behavior like i see posted often on this forum of physical brawls between adults on airplanes, roads, sidewalks and in retail stores.
have i been lucky for missing these violent events or are these incidents rare and they are posted so often on city data because some enjoy watching people beat each other up?

The worst to me is when you see little league baseball games and the adults are in the stands brawling like a bunch of idiots.
One half the customers want masks and distancing and the other says you are infringing on their rights.
And the store is expected to enforce the rules? I'm surprised it doesn't occur more often,
According to local Police, this incident had nothing to do with masks.
Working with the general public is not easy, regardless of Covid, because a percentage of the public is whacked out. And occasionally, some employees, too. I avoid shopping brick mortar whenever possible.

We are in the same age bracket.
Until cellphone video cameras and social media, we were mostly blissfully ignorant of people behaving badly in public.
Before retirement, I used to fly for business weekly and observed some seriously nasty behaviors on flights. Oftentimes alcohol was a factor. Other times it was the equivalent of a sandbox filled with adult tots in need of a nap or something. I was always grateful passengers were not allowed to cc onboard.
Thinking bad public behavior tends to beget bad public behavior.

Sorry I was not clear.
The local Texas grocery chain president announced they would follow the governor's instruction and no longer require mask.
Since masking became the rule the employees of HEB have had to handle over 2000 individuals who have lost it in the store.
He expects it to get worse. In the interest of employee and customer safety, HEB will not require mask after the 10th. They will require masks for all employees and hope their customers will continue to be masked.
