He's right..

I'm sorry you don't like facts, but numbers don't lie.

The report shows that just over 55 percent of black male student-athletes graduated within six years, compared with 60 percent of all black undergraduate men, 69.3 percent of all student-athletes and 76.3 percent of all undergraduate students.

I'm black, the stats don't bother me, because many black student athletes are trying to go professional, not become doctors and lawyers.

this is another strawman.

His argument was going to be about black athletes getting into college and freeloading because of "diversity". The reality is even with that deflection you tried to into, those same black athletes BRING IN money to these schools and they financially contribute to the educations of many non-black students. It's actually a lopsided bad-deal for the black athletes because they are essentially employees of the school getting vastly underpaid for what they bring in financially to these schools.

And i know THAT should resonate with so many of these people on this forum that talk about "trickle down" capitalism and how they hate socialism. Well, i doubt any of you will be mad at this version of trickle-down capitalism...for obvious reasons. In true american tradition, socialism is fun when it's at the expense of black people.

(CNN)A new study of the economics of college sports found that affluent White students are profiting off the labor of poor Black students.

The study from the National Bureau of Economic Research, published August 31, analyzed revenue data for all 65 athletic departments in the Power Five conferences, home to the NCAA's top Division I men's football and basketball programs, from 2006 to 2019. The researchers also collected data from student rosters across all sports in those departments in 2018, including data on the players' ethnicity and hometowns.
The report found that the money generated by football and basketball programs -- whose majority of players are Black -- pays for the salaries of coaches and administrators, is used to upgrade facilities the teams use, and finances non-revenue sports played mostly by affluent White student athletes.

Why do you keep talking about white people?

Unless you think white and Asian people are interchangeable.

Let’s talk about adding diversity to NCAA football and basketball where Asians under represented and black people are over represented. Affirmative action is not strictly for academic setting you know.

I'm talking about black people helping non-black people go to college because you were trying to say black athletes didn't "earn" their way into college. Black athletes literally help non-black people at colleges. It's a bad deal...for the black athletes that bring in billions of revenue to fund other things at these schools. These black athletes help add diversity financially with the money they bring in.

You're just mad i cut off that little argument your were going to try and spin.

FYI, Asians are discriminated AGAINST because their grades are so superior that they are over represented, and there are plenty of white families, also with very bright kids, who don’t have the money for college. To overlook them to favor “a little black girl” is racist and unfair.

Keep pounding him, Rachel!

In my scoring so far (haven't got to end of comments) you have won every round! It's looking like a knockout!

Thank you. The reason I’m winning is because I worked in the field and saw the double standards when it came to admissions. Time and time again, white kids with excellent grades and scores were rejected while black kids with SIGNIFICANTLY lower grades and scores were welcomed in with open arms.

That’s not to say that ALL black kids got in via the lower standards. It was very easy to calculate that about 1 in three black kids would have been accepted even under the more demanding “white” standards. (It’s not called that, of course, but that’s what they were.) But the 2/3rds who got in via lower standards ended up having a much more difficult time keeping up with their classmates, as would be expected.

And the schools somehow have to justify that they are turning away whites with 3.8 while accepting blacks with 3.2, and so they came up with the “holistic” admissions nonsense, allowing them to factor in all sorts of subjective things.... like personality....to justify their decisions.

That was many years ago. I can’t even imagine how much worse it’s gotten with this anti-white sentiment sweeping the country.

Yup. He’s made some really derogatory remarks about hard-working, bright, studious Asian students. It’s the same thing the schools do: blame the Asian “personality” to justify why they’re being turned away when blacks (and Latinos) with much lower grades and scores get in.
