I want to hear from people on here who remember Jimmy Carter firsthand. Do you see any parallels between him and Joe Biden?

Well, for one he tended to remember the names of his cabinet members and the names of the departments they ran. So straight away he had a significant advantage over Joe.

I don't think Jimmy Carter was a very good communicator. Biden is a walking gaffe machine.

Jimmy Carter had Brother Billy, who was a harmless embarrassment (but did have a beer named after him). The rest of the family (Miss Lillian, Rosalyn, Amy) were affable enough to make up for it.

Joe has Hunter.

Carter would have ran circles around Biden cognitively.

None at all.
Jimmy Carter was a terrible President, but he was a good, honest man.
At ninety-six, Carter is still probably sharper than Joe.

I find nothing similar between Jimmy Carter and Joe Biden other than they both tend to speak with a softer tone.

Jimmy Carter was and still is an honest man. Him time in office was not a smooth one. We had high interest rates, an oil crisis and tensions in the middle east which ultimately started the was in 1980. I remember gas rationing and having to buy gasoline on a designated day, according to your license plate number. That was just weird but we managed to make it work without rioting in the streets. We got through his time in office but as a President, he wasn't very effective. But he never lied. I don't think he has it in him to tell a lie.

Biden, on the other hand has no problem lying. He did it just today by saying that close to three million people were vaccinated in one day but it turns out that number is an accumulation of many days, not one day. (oh and for the people who will want a source for that claim . . . https://www.yahoo.com/news/ap-fact-c...230538904.html )

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, this time. Maybe he wasn't given the correct information or was simply confused but, with his history of fabricating stories, I find it a little hard to believe him when he says something.

So even if Jimmy Carter wasn't the best President, I trusted his words. Not like today. Not one thing that Biden says leaves me feeling reassured. He's lied in the past and he'll do it again. A leopard doesn't change its spots.

Carter was a much better president than Biden.

Carter was very intelligent. Biden is demented

Carter was a former US submarine officer. Biden never served

Carter was a "newcomer". Biden is a lifetime Washington insider

Carter inherited a rough economy. Biden inherited a good economy, despite Covid

Carter gave frequent press conferences. Biden is demented and cannot speak

Carter was not purchased by a foreign government. Biden is a Chinese pawn

Carter was a terrible president, but had his heart in the right place. Biden is worse than Carter and is a corrupt Washington insider.
