Do you support unions now, or not? Or just for Amazon?
Did you know Amazon warehouse workers have timed bathroom breaks? Sure, I'm favor of unionizing that, especially when the big cheese has almost $200 billion.

Amazon had 342,400 US employees at the end of 2016. It crossed the 1 million mark in 2020. A substantial percentage of NET JOB GROWTH during Trump’s reign can be attributed to Amazon.

In 2017, Amazon increased its Minimum Wage across the board to $15/ hr. There are thousands of micro economies in the US. It’s not about wage but rather what that was buys in the local economy. Imagine $15/ hr to start buys a lot in a state that defaults to the Federal Minimum Wage, like Alabama does.

Full time employee benefits include:

Subsidized healthcare
401k with matching
10 week paid parental leave
Paid time off ( vacation, sick)
Stock options
Tuition reimbursement
Unlimited opportunity

As an aside Alabama is a Right to Work state.

Why doesn’t Rubio advocate for unionizing Amazon, Walmart etc in his own state?

I am not opposed to Unions per se, I am opposed to extremely inefficient unions and especially corrupt ones. Unions in private businesses have a right to exist.

Also, I am more opposed to woke companies than unions.

I hope Rubio asks for taxes to be raised on the large companies that are mostly woke and donate to the left politically.

Yep.

There are tons of videos on YouTube of investigations and employees alleging abuse, law breaking, and bad work conditions at Amazon, while Amazon pretends to be woke.

Workers have a right to protest that.

i agree with rubio!
SELF-MADE wealthiest person in the world.

Warehouse employee compensation and benefits are far superior to most comparable work, elsewhere.

You could have bought AMZ for $18/ share in 1997. It closed today at 3,089.49.

Shoulda woulda/coulda

Amazon put that old yarn to rest, last year.

Ever hear of Camper Force?

These are RVers and work campers, nomads really, that travel the country and work seasonal jobs. Most are age 60+ Some are in their 80’s. Most return year after year for seasonal holiday employment at $15/ hr and a stipend towards camp fees. They count on it

During the summers , many make the circuit of county fairs and are primarily engaged in sanitation work for Minimum Wage.

Every non-professional job at Amazon is temporary., especially the warehouse jobs. I'm sure that Amazon is doing all they can to completely automate as much of their operations as possible.

Amz has 1 million employees in the US.

Walmart employs about 1.5 million employees in the US.

Reasonable to assume 10% +/- are disgruntled, resentful and vocal.

No one is forced to work at either business. If things are as bad as some claim, they are free to seek employment elsewhere. In states like Alabama, that might require a 50% cut in compensation and loss of benefits.

Plenty of 60+ year olds would be thrilled to take their place and show up on time, sober and work their butts off.
