I'm sure there have been some PPs that did perform tuba ligations but its not anything that is done routinely.
I had mine done in 1983 after the birth of my second. It definitely was not free. At that time it was nearly impossible for any single woman under 30 or without 2 kids to get a doctor to do a tubal. I dont think it is much easier today. There is more money to be made in pregnancy and childbirth than in tubal ligations and birth control.
It a lot easier and cheaper for a guy to get a vasectomy.
That sound like a question relating to biology. So you are right, biologically speaking. If a living organism cannot reproduce, then in one context, there is no reason for the organism to exist. In the greater picture, the organism does have a roll to play in the ecosystem whether it can reproduce or not. It can provide food and have other benefits to the environment.
I guess I would be fine with dying at 70 or so. I am a big proponent of euthanasia. If someone is in their 70's or 80's and their health is deteriorating day by day, life is over, they will never become young again. Their life is over. And I want to decide when that is the case.
Of course I am against ending someone's life against their will.
Regarding the planet, it would make a big difference if we all downsized a lot while still young or middle-aged. You know, simply produce less, buy less, use less, dispose of less. We should find a way to cut our footprint by 75% without feeling like going back to the stone age

There is an astronomical cost and burden on healthcare and on tax payer to pick the tab on geriatrics medical care.
I know it’s tough but IMO, if someone has lived a good 80 odd years then I think it’s good enough.
Shouldn’t drag it any longer by being on life support tubes or being in coma or being moved around like a sandbag on wheel chairs? IMO, it’s a very lonely and miserable life.

Reminds me of male gyns who told me my menstrual pain was all in my head and to take an aspirin. Like they were mind readers or something.
I was lucky because I found a female gyn who told me the same thing initially, but every few years I'd ask regardless. Finally, I developed fibroids and she said, "I don't have to ask you if you want a hysterectomy or not!"
