I have long held the view that people should have the right to have their lives ended whenever they wish, with just three exceptions in which I support the death penalty: murderers, those who horrifically torture others, and those who rape young children.
For myself, I would like my life to end whenever I am no longer able to enjoy living -- and for me, that would mean being completely mentally "vacant", unable to walk, unable to care for myself, or being completely blind. (And, yes, before anyone "gets on my case" (like someone always does when I post something like that), YES, I do realize that many blind, paralyzed, and unable-to-care-for-themselves people might have enjoyable and/or "worthwhile" lives, I am speaking only for MYSELF.
Goes to show that providing people with an education doesn't always work! Sometimes it just doesn't stick.
CO2 is not 'carbon' (specifically) of which all life is formed. It is a molecule made up of carbon and oxygen in a specific proportion. But hey, there is oxygen in CO2 also, so I highly recommend that you run a hose from you car's tailpipe to the inside. After a brisk drive, you will feel refreshed!
All life on Earth requires water too. But flooding the entire planet with it, seems like a poor choice. But, who am I to disagree with a guy like you, who took "science class"?
What is in your car's exhaust is carbon monoxide, CO, not carbon dioxide, CO2.
Plus,
How about hospice care and a DNR, instead of medical treatment after 80?
There is an astronomical cost and burden on healthcare and on tax payer to pick the tab on geriatrics medical care.
I know it’s tough but IMO, if someone has lived a good 80 odd years then I think it’s good enough.
Shouldn’t drag it any longer by being on life support tubes or being in coma or being moved around like a sandbag on wheel chairs? IMO, it’s a very lonely and miserable life.
You lived a good 80 years, it’s good enough. It’s time for a peaceful transition.
You say you know it's tough. Do you personally know anyone who's 80+? Do these 80+ folks get a choice in the matter, or are we, as a society, making that choice for them?
Soooo...all ya'll that hate Bill Gates...do you even understand what his foundation does, and how it helps humans around the world, and how ultimately, it's good for the environment?

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
I’m sure he gave his money to quite a few good things and good for him, but it doesn’t mean his words or beliefs should be the law of the land, or dictate what we should do with our lives, or dictate laws. If he feels 80 yrs is enough, then he can go, but excuse me if I don’t want to.
