We keep pointing out that if you dont like it here you should leave. Stop being a slave, go to a country without taxes. You keep screaming slavery DESPITE being able to leave.

If I stop working, I lose everything I own, and end up homeless. If I do not work, when I was younger I would lose my children.

Tying medical care to your employment? Yeah. Thats been great. People stay at jobs out of fear of losing their medical insurance.

Slavery is voluntary....if you refuse you can be killed, or tortured. But you have a choice RIGHT there.
Capitalism is JUST as voluntary. Work or you can die, or suffer.

I have a better argument that capitalism is slavery then you do that taxes are slavery. Which is why this taxes are slavery nonsense is just that.
In capitalism, you VOLUNTARILY stop producing.

In slavery, you are FORCED to work or FORCED to give up part of your work to feed the leeches.

What's confusing you is that those who don't file aren't included in the statistics that 45% (likely more now) of all US 1040 filers pay no federal income tax.

Yep, actually. Thanks for making my point. The right wingers on the thread are advocating making everyone pay some tax. Tax them all, they say. Nobody rides free! That would include the millions of social security beneficiaries whose SS income is exempted. The reason the wingers do this is because they believe that the people who do not file or do not pay in the US are mostly minorities. They are mostly elderly people whose sole income is SS.

1) Just like a leftist, you accused me of being racist because I think everyone should have some modest skin in the game. I think it’s safe to assume that since the majority of the country is white, the majority of non-payers are low-income whites.

2) I told you before that seniors are NOT the most likely not to pay tax. People over 65 represent 16% of the population, and approximately half of them have enough income outside SS to pay tax. IOW, only 8% of the 48% who pay nothing are elderly; the remainder are working age.

Do you just make up stuff to fit your false liberal narrative that non-Democrats are racists?

No one cares about the freeloaders' race. Everyone should pay, regardless. That's why I advocate a consumption tax only. It's self-leveling. If you can't afford to buy much, you won't be taxed much.

You are being obtuse. Let SS be exempt. I'm sure many "right wingers" as you say would support that. However, the ~40% of working people that pay nothing in federal income taxes need to start paying something. Heck, how do you think the Left's holy grail society of Sweden, Denmark, etc pay for things? They collect from EVERONE, doesn't matter how much or LITTLE you make. The current socialist tax system we have in the US in unsustainable. We need everyone to contribute something.

IKR? I say that everyone should have some skin in the game, and like clockwork....the leftist comes out with the assumption that minorities are the ones who don’t pay tax (which is a racist assumption in and of itself) and claims that’s why I’m for the non-paying half to chip in.

When leftists call EVERYTHING racist, then the true racist acts get lost.

When they hear "skin", they immediately think "skin color" as the good racists they are.

Since everyone making the argument that we should screw poor people because bad reasons, here's a 2013 update from the Tax Policy Center, the same folks that originally came up with the 47% number https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxv...ral-income-tax

Note that the folks who work and don't pay net Federal income taxes generally do pay taxes within a year or two.

And, according to this link, https://www.forbes.com/sites/howardg...h=3403527647d7 over half of the people not paying Federal taxes are people living on Social Security.
