Absolutely nothing supports the Fox News sensational headline that “ income” is one of the celebrations. Why did they choose to misrepresent?

The opportunities are:

Multicultural

Native

Lavender

Asian

FLI

Latinx

Black

Some schools have been providing similar optional opportunities for at least 15 years.
From the block quote in your post:

"Another dubbed "FLI Graduation" is for "first generation and/or low income community."

What is misrepresented? Yes, it's not only low income, but it is associated with low income.

It doesn't really matter whether these ceremonies exist "in addition to" or "in place of" the usual all inclusive ceremony. The fact that they even exists, encourages identity politics and evaluating people based on some attribute. I think this is actually rather small minded of the university to have these alternative ceremonies.

Having said that, there could be an argument made for segregation. I mean, people want to be around people who are like themselves in most ways. Of course, I think we are enriched when we have diverse people in our lives, but some small minded people want to be with only people like themselves. To each his/her own, as long as you are not hurting someone else or society at large.

Someone needs to whip out their dictionary.

I'm waiting for this thread to eventually circle back to Trump. It's bound to happen! The ol Trumpster is the reason for all the problems in this world.....blah blah blah.

It's also Bush's fault, although the Left loves him now.

The dignified and proper thing to do would be to confront the racists in their own ranks, but that is NEVER going to happen. So, instead they climb up on the high horse that is "the other guy does it too!

Problem with all this is that despite racism having universal human roots, the left often confronts it in their own ranks, but the right rarely does and instead chooses to create deflections and diversions like this one.

Advise to the right: if you REALLY care about racism and have the strength of conviction, confront it amongst yourselves. Then you can throw stones. Then we can all put a stop to it, instead of making it a talking point.

But that will not happen, because overt racism doesn't bother the right, it is just a tool to obfuscate and avoid taking any responsibility for change.
Racism is only perceived , it is not a physical entity. The perception of racism is an opinion.

One can only care about racism if they perceive it exists within them, or around them. The issue with Leftists is that they insist on imposing their perception, their opinion of racism on others. The other issue is they actually invent accusations of racism where they don’t exist. A Mural , Artwork, is mounted on a wall for 75 or 100 years. Poof,, today it is racist.

And if there is ignorance and/or denial of accepting the racism accusation the next step is usually some psycho babble not based on any science , or even anything concrete , just that word we here all the time, it is settled. If the Left says itis racism, there can not be any rebuttal.

“ overt racism”” Systematic racism” All malarkey..

Because, when leftists do something absurd, the problem is not with the absurdity but rather with the people who notice it.

What's next? Will they segregate classrooms. Turn Brown vs. Board of Education on it's head?
