I don’t want to get rid of public schools. I want people to have the power to get rid of toxic educators who do stuff like this, but they can’t because of unions. It was just a musing about what power do parents and taxpayers have over people who are supposed to be working for us, not against us.
I would LOVE to find out how many of the parents in this group volunteer at their local soup kitchen, donate money to local charities, mentor less privileged kids, etc. They are probably too busy with their little guerrilla facebook group. Or berating a Starbucks employee for messing up their order. Or calling the cops when they see an unfamiliar black person walking through their neighborhood.
The hypocrisy runs thick with these types. Deep down they know they are racist and intolerant, so they overcompensate and make sure to go way over the top rubbing their false virtue in everyone else's face.
So all teachers are above reproach? We had a teacher who physically abused children and the school overlooked it, yes parents complained, but nothing was done, both my kids had a teacher in high school do nothing but sit and eat chips in class, at least because a parent who use to be a teacher complained and fortunately she didn’t have tenur so she was let go. There are good teachers, but there are not so good ones too!
They are trusted with our children and should be held accountable and I would had parents as well. A unruly kid should not be allowed to disrupt a class.

But yet your self-righteous indignation stops where teachers, deciding they can’t lord over all adults, move instead to indoctrinate their children. Imagine what sort of psychopathy one has to have to aim their focus at children when they don’t get their way?
I feel like this thread has gone sideways to the original post. Teachers plotting against the parents for exercising their rights to question curriculum and at that, a curriculum that is highly controversial? This is just wrong, and these teacher should be reprimanded. Teachers are teachers not gods nor dictators.
I mean...did anyone actually read the "article" linked in the OP? It's full of contradictions and borderline incoherent. I googled to see if I could find something from a more reputable source, or at least a source that is better at the fundamentals of reporting, and couldn't find anything that wasn't a repost or remix of this same article. I think anyone who's paying attention is probably taking it with not just a grain, but a full ocean of salt.
A group of current and former teachers and others in Loudoun County, Virginia compiled a lengthy list of parents suspected of disagreeing with school system actions, including its teaching of controversial racial concepts — with a stated purpose in part to “infiltrate,” to use “hackers” to silence parents’ communications, and to “expose these people publicly.”
I suspect the schools encourage this as they get more tax dollars for their "special" education classes.
Really sad!
If parents don't stand up for their kids, who will?
Why do you put special in quotes. Do you even know what special ed classes are. It's designed for kids who are mentality, physically, and emotionally delayed. Teachers need a masters in special ed because it requires a different way of teaching. My sister is a special ed teacher. They have to have aides because every child has a different need. Yes, these kids are special and they deserve to have an education. Every special ed teacher need aides so yes they need more funding.
No one is forcing parents to put kids in public schools. They can homeschool or put their kids in a private school.
They are "forced" by the fact that they are paying for public schools through real estate taxes. Private school tuition should be 100% deductible on your state tax return to make it fair.
Don't forget the escalation from the Left that's still ongoing. It went from throwing milkshakes to throwing punches to throwing explosives, in just a few years. There's about zero chance that the escalation is done. They don't have absolute power over everyone; their job isn't finished.

Lots of extra money for those kids, it seems.
Kinda makes one wonder about motivations behind the over-diagnosing of conditions like ADHD.
