The OP is full of emotional remarks and lacks facts that were stated in the "hearing". Why leave out the science in the OP?
The only person that could be heard was Senator Paul.
I just listened to the video and Paul was just awful, speaking over Fauci, not letting him complete a sentence, using inflammatory statements. Clearly he took a page right out of trumps first Biden debate. The host had to basically turn off Paul. I doubt Paul will be asked back after that performance. Producers must have been blowing smoke out of this ears.
If you think Paul was wonderful I would guess you think trumps first debate showing was wonderful too.
Paul spoke from proven facts, Fauci spoke out of his ass, as usual, the guy changes his mind every week and has proven himself not credible.
Unfortunately, Dr. Fauci would simply reply that there are variants. That is what he brought up in the hearing. I am guessing there will soon be reports that the vaccines are not as effective against the variants.
What fauci forgot to say was that the flu virus mutates into different variants on a monthly basis and the flu vaccine is still effective. Fauci is nothing more than a fearmonger.
I didn't hear any facts put forward by Paul but this constant debate on wearing masks is a diversion from more important issues. Fauci brought up a study in South Africa where people already infected were re-infected by the South African Variant. This seemed like a replay of the prior hearing back in December with Paul constantly interrupting and accusing Fauci.
It is prudent to wear masks in the meantime until we move beyond thousands of new cases a day and have a better understanding of the variants. Until we have more knowledge wearing a mask is a simple gesture. How do you know if someone not wearing a mask was vaccinated, take them at their word.

Yes and because of the drop in flu cases, people are starting to think wearing a mask during flu season is a great idea.
