Evidently you did not read it correctly - three victims were non Asian. As has been stated before, these were scrub and tug joints he frequented in the past and most of these businesses are run by Asians.

The class was set up with all the tables making a big square and there was a big box full of yarn balls in the middle. The teacher left the room for about 15 minutes and in that time the whole class engaged in a yarn ball throwing incident. She walked back in to quite a sight.

She didn't allow us to do any projects for about two weeks and then she came up with a wise decision to restore us. She gave us a class project to paint a mural of nature on the wall in a science class room. And it was an achievement the whole class was proud of together, as we all had a part in it together, just like the yarn ball fight. And we produced something beautiful and the local newspaper even came out and took a picture of it with an article and the class sitting in front of it.

Now, if it would have been, say one student throwing a yarn ball at the teacher, and the whole class got punished for that. The students would have resented that teacher and the art class. Not putting any heart in the projects she gave us. Or producing anything beautiful.

I use that example as a perspective for what people in government and the media do, when these crimes happen on the street. And when they place blame on people who had nothing to do with it, they only breed resentment. And create an ugly atmosphere over everything. When most everyone agrees what that person did was evil and horrific. They throw all that agreement and unifying consensus out the window and blame groups of people who had nothing to do with it and actually despise what happened. Making the evil that happened even worse.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. I was just on the MSN homepage and going through the articles. There was an article about this murderer listing the charges, and the article mentions that six Asian Americans were killed. Nothing about the two other victims. Not only does it diminish the other victims, it makes it seem that he only killed six people when it was really eight people. Why on earth would they do that? I'm so disgusted with the media. Bunch of pieces of excrement.
