40 years ago people were getting the same crap advice about diet. It really shouldn't be an excuse now since we have the internet at our fingertips.

99 percent of other countries do not have this problem. We do.

Stop making excuses for it

Trump being an obese fatass was not a good look for us.

You clearly want to propose that it is 100% with our control and don't really want to go into the basis for it. You just want to show your moral superiority for your thinness.

You will never understand because you don't want to.

Quit making excuses for our embarrassing obesity problem.

It makes this country look like a joke
I've said this before, but a big part of the problem is that many, if not most, unhealthy foods are cheaper than healthy foods -- and if one is poor, it takes a lot of willpower to go hungry rather than indulge in some cookies or ice cream or whatever. It is also tempting for poor people to give their kids unhealthy treats if they can't afford any other type of treats.* (Of course, I know that people can and will say that it doesn't cost anything to take the kids to the local park, but that is assuming they live in an area that have safe and clean parks. From what I understand, that is not always the case. And sometimes poor parents just don't have the energy or training to do fun things with their kids in their homes.)

I think most of the above has been said before by many other people, but sometimes I think that some people just don't realize that not everyone has the same advantages that I think most people take for granted.

*Yes, bananas are generally cheap, but again, it comes down to training parents as to how some healthy snacks don't need to cost all that much -- for example, some pieces of celery stuffed with peanut butter or some string cheese. But, even so, a snack of a couple of Oreos and soda is generally less expensive than an apple and a glass of milk.

I can certainly make this political. Haven't you heard that exercise will kill you?

Quote:
After college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn’t work out. When he learned that John O’Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, "You are going to die young because of this."

You know why I'm thin? Because I actually give a damn about my health and looks. Nothing morally superior about it. Everyone should. It would make our society better, our healthcare and death rates better.

99 percent are not predisposition to obesity.

You are making excuses going after me, pathetic.

No. Everyone pays for the obesity epidemic. It raises medical costs and helps to make health insurance unaffordable. Increases Medicaid and Medicare expenses, which are paid for by our taxes.

No one chooses to be fat. Most of the time it's the result of ignorance, and bad information from the medical industry.

If the public was educated about obesity the way they were educated about smoking, we would not have an obesity epidemic.

We had poor people 30-40 years ago. Another excuse

Underweight is fine. Being fat is not.
Who knows, maybe some presidential first lady will come along and encourage schools to provide healthy food for kids so they don't get fat.

I don't know if its the food so much is hardly anyone gets out or moves around now. Hell, most people don't even have to go to work anymore. Their idea of going to work is to the bedroom shut the door and get on the computer all day. top it off with limited exercise now. Not healthy. If people aren't working from home in a sedentary job, they're sitting home with multiple kids and mooching off the government and tax payers. If you're going to sit around and be lazy on the weekend and eat crap that ones thing, if you have a physical, blue collar job you go to during the week. Its another thing to live an unhealthy life, day after day day.

Just a simple thing like keeping physical blue collar jobs around would do wonders. White collar jobs are havens for obesity
