For what it's worth though, I suspect this started out as a consensual encounter that turned out to be a bigger bite than the young woman could chew.
Hmmmm... The hotel's security video shows the two men having to hold her up just to get her into the hotel room. She had likely already been drugged by them before then. Consent is questionable.

I think it more likely that they just fell in to the situation and it was more of a crime of opportunity. There are lots of young women who go to spring break specifically looking for this type of encounter. Minus the rape and murder of course.

Well I doubt she was passed out on the floor at whatever club they met her at. However it started though it obviously turned nonconsensual at some point. If she was just passed out in the hotel room there was even less reason to kill her. I hope Florida has the death penalty.

Yeah the Colorado shooting is an even better example. When they thought the shooter was white, it was all about his race but when it turned out he was muslim it didn't matter anymore and now the story is getting less attention.

Not likely. They preyed on this woman. Even if they were nice at first, their motives were never good or just to have fun. They were predators that night (and likely others before) and are 100% at fault for this.

If they spiked her drinks in addition to then later raping and killing her, they should add that charge to rape and murder. These two individuals deserve never to be free again.

Are you being dense? There is absolutely no woman looking for this type of encounter. This encounter only happened because she was drugged.
Women who want a 1 night stand sure as hell don't have to travel Miami to find it. They can just look on their dating apps
These were two idiots, not even college students, looking for someone to drug and exploit, and they found it.
