after living in austin for several years, i have learned the far left progessives in my neighborhood are hypocrites, like every single leftist i've ever known. nothing new. virtue signaling makes me ill.
I live among them, but can't wait to move away from them.
How Austin remains on peoples' wish lists is beyond me. I used to live there and loved it back in the early 90's, but the influx of newcomers who arrived 20-30 years later seem to think today's version is heaven. I know that's subjective, but they haven't a clue as to how fun and live-and-let-live the city used to be.

They also assume that black folks need good white liberals to help them out in life because they can't make it without them. I constantly call out this soft form of bigotry.
Sounds very much like the Liberals who insist on a hard lockdown to get to zero Covid and want people arrested for "illegally" having social gatherings until you point out that more non-White groups are having social gatherings than Whites and it's part of our "culture" to gather in person to celebrate Diwali, Cinco De Mayo, Chinese New Year, Junteenth, etc., name the ethnic holiday. Not to mention that cops have their hands tied and have to treat Blacks with kid gloves (even when violence is involved) due to the BLM movement so they won't go near a Black neighborhood just to break up an "illegal gathering". This really stumps the leftists who think that we could do a hard lockdown just like New Zealand and South Korea and eliminate Covid.
Male immigrant masculinity and liberals wanting more of them seems kind of odd to me. I assume the liberals think that they’ll indoctrinate their children in the schools.
But honestly the liberals just don’t see these people as threats to their power. That’s why the liberals have always supported more police and dismantling affirmative action, as they need these things to support their power. Wasn’t until Trump and liberal panic, did they begin to at least pay lip service to minority issues in any real way.
I get why corporate Republicans want more mass illegal immigration, but liberals seem to want that even more so. Votes are a generation away from that so I don’t buy it as the primary motivator. Racial politics sure, but flooding the nation with masses of poor uneducated foreigners ASAP? I don’t think so. Something else is afoot and really the only structural racism that exists in this country against whites, especially white Christians.

Austin has always been split down the middle by I-35, with white people on the west side and black and brown people on the east side. Driving under I-35 was like entering another country. Now the white people are crowding the POC out of their neighborhoods AND complaining about their culture. Not surprising, but infuriating nonetheless.
