Yes.

The first couple years, yes. However, now, I've learned how to shop for deals, make my own clothes, grow food (not much, but it helps), repair my truck, make soap and on and on.

I owned a business a few years back. I did really well and that's when I realized how high taxes were. I still work for family and friends, but nothing more than what's necessary.

You might be surprised, by the number of books on the shelves at the library, apparently this is part of some movement.

LOL. According to everyone around me, I'm not supposed to be a Republican.

Or, maybe you live at home so you have the luxury of protest-through-self-deprivation because Mom and Dad will pick up the slack financially. Those old meanies who sold your generation down the river...
I wish! If I could turn back time, I'd of stayed home. Alas, like the foolish kid I was, I left at 17.

The only deprivation I experience is that I don't go on vacations... However, I was raised in a family that didn't either, so I really have no desire to travel and don't miss it.

Life is really nice. I would rather work like I used to and have plenty of money, but I'm just not going to... For dirty f'in old people who want to keep their hands in my pocket. I'll wait to the dollar collapses and the welfare net is under fire from the masses. Maybe then I'll get out and work again... but I'd rather own a little property where I can have chickens and fresh eggs...

So you have to make your own soap but have internet service?

Hey, if you're independent and not living off welfare then God bless! Seems like the system is in fact working for you.

Except for the whole not-paying-taxes bit but that's a detail.

One Thousand, more power to you for what you are doing.

God knows the current way of our society sure doesn't seem worth the hassle.

We will be (hopefully) soon living a simpler life and not shrugging off society.

I know of quite a few people who do more than make their own soap and still have internet...there is quite a group of people no longer interested in our society and how it is geared...living simpler is our goal.

Who are these "old people" you are talking about? The same ones that fought for our country in WW 2 or Vietnam? The old people who made it through the Great Depression, or were you talking about other old people?

I know, I know...there's plenty of heinous old farts out there, but I guess I don't mind it that some of my money may end up working to take care of them. The health care industry is such crapola that there aren't a lot of solutions right now.

As far as not wanting to pay taxes, especially when we see where some of our taxes are going these days...I totally sympathize, and if you are comfortable leading a life where you don't have much income, that's just fine with me...as long as you, in turn, aren't picking MY pocket by collecting any kind of government assistance.

Lots of people live very much off the land here in AK; more like the "old" days, and I have tons of respect for them; I myself have learned how to do a lot of things, including fixing boat/truck motors myself, etc. But my admiration goes down the chitter if I see these folks collecting a welfare check or paying their grocery bill with food stamps.

I don't have to make my own soap. I choose making my own soap over the oppression of being forced to pay into socialism.

Not only do I have internet, but I have plenty of other luxuries... like a computer.

I still pay taxes... just not very much. If I figure out a way to get welfare, I would. I guarantee if that universal healthcare goes through, you'll see me at the doctor's once a week for one handout or another.

Anyway, to pull it back around. You're saying that there's a problem with people today living at home till 30, etc. You never answered the question why, if someone can get away with it, would they not do so? Why in the world would anyone subject themselves to these outrageous taxes?

I don't get it, Locke is clear as a bell that people will not work if the benefit isn't there and you're describing it. Why would anyone operate contrary to human nature?

See, this is where you lose my vote. If you are able to work and would intentionally still suck on the welfare teat...WOW.

But you are right about one important thing: America is LETTING people with this mind set suck us dry through lax and liberal welfare systems, among other things.

However, there are plenty of people out there who don't believe that just because you CAN do a thing means you SHOULD, no matter how much easier it might make your life. These are the people I respect and whose respect I work for, no matter what level they are on the economic or educational totem pole.

Yes, those ones. The one's who inherited the country with no debt from the people who fought WWI and the Civil War. The one's who's stock market speculation, land speculation and isolationist practices got them into the Great Depression.

Why the "Greatest" generation wouldn't give the same that they received is beyond me. Instead, they saddled the following generations with the debt carried over from their depression.

I don't know, I'm a big fan of personal responsibility... You know, if you pay into a system that's only supposed to start paying two years after your average life expectancy is exceeded, you don't screw the next generation by forcing them pay for you ten years before your average life expectancy is reached. Call me crazy, but it just seems rather caniving.

Health care system flawed? Yeah, it's their health care system they created. They weren't born yesterday.

I swear to you I will do the best I can to use the government to rip you off. I'd rather not choose between oppression and this type of lifestyle... but since that's the choice I make, I'm going to do what I can to return the favor.

ok no one has bothered to think that this girl might have some serious mental health problems? or drug problem? i dont think her age has anything to do with this. i have seen enough crazies on the bus to know that crazy comes in all shapes colors and sizes.

what is more telling is that no one came to the ladys defence. and the train had people of all generations.

upon viweing this video i immediately thought that i would have said something to tha lil chickenhead, i have in the past. i have no problem intervening like that. but you must always use caution. you never know when one of these individuals will come out the pocket all crazy.

as for the younger generations the only thing i cant stand about them is this video game cyber reality they have crafted.

once my kids want to buy these GTA games where they rob and shoot and pander and car jack and drive by, once they think thats cute, i will take them down the block and leave them on the corner and see how cute this life really is.

and kids nowadays def dont have the same work skills other generations did. when people actually start saying LOL or IDK, then thats a serious problem.

anyhow soulja girl got nabbed and i hope she gets the help she needs.
