He said a Tuesday report by The New York Times was an attempt to “thwart that investigation,” and demanded that the Justice Department release those recordings to clear his name.
He was on Tucker claiming the same thing. It's possible. There was a VT politician who was falsely charged with rape and found not guilty, but they kept bringing him to court over and over on lesser charges until he beat them all.

So he was paying to fly a teenager less than half his age around to various states for sex?
Gaetz never met the basic intellectual standard for Congress anyway, he was just a bomb thrower. Now that the bomb thrower in chief has been dethroned and we are back to basic competence in governance, I bet the job rings hollow to him now.

Joel Greenberg is a friend of Gaetz and went to Mar-a-Lago with Gaetz.
Greenberg was indicted last year for sex trafficking and a bunch of other stuff. He also has an association with Roger Stone and the Proud Boys. There's a photo of Greenberg and Gaetz and Roger Stone.
Greenberg worked at the Florida government office which make Drivers Licenses, so he created a fake ID - most likely to make the girl appear older. Greenberg had a "relationship" with the teen before he turned her over the Gaetz. It appears the teen below is the same one that later traveled with Gaetz. Gaetz is pretending she was 20 because of her fake id probably, even though she was a 17 when dating Gaetz. Feds might have proof that Gaetz knew her true age and knew the ID was fake.
Gaetz already admitted that his "girlfriend" dated Greenberg first, before dating Gaetz.
