The flash reading of the IHS Market U.S. composite purchasing managers index rose to a record high 68.1 in May from 63.5 in April, according to survey data released Friday.
In the service sector, IHS Markit said its flash purchasing managers index rose to a record 70.1 from 64.7 in April. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal were expecting a 64.3 reading.
In the manufacturing sector, the firm’s flash purchasing managers index rose to a record 61.5 in May from 60.5 in the previous month. Economists were expecting an unchanged reading of 60.5.
That's nice - but here from the linked report - is the 12 month rate of increase in the Mfg. PMI before Biden took office. See a trend ? Joe had nothing to do with that. Guess who did.

Continuing, once again, the tradition here of ascribing failure or success of any economic event in the news to the current POTUS, the ISM manufacturing index for March was reported today at a 37-year high.
It's terribly interesting that Trumpers can credit Trump for good news in the economy when he was in office only a short time, but when the same thing happens to Biden, it cannot be credited to Biden!

Trumpers had no problem crediting manufacturing strength to Trump even while he was in office less than a year. But now that Biden is prez .... ooohh nooo, we can't possibly credit the president anymore!
The utter hypocrisy of Trumpers saying it's OK for Trumpers to credit Trump for some good economic event even before he took office, but when some good economic event occurs AFTER Biden takes office somehow is NOT because of Biden, cannot be understated!
And what's even more hypocritical is, Trumpers have no problem blaming Biden for high gas prices and high inflation, but when a manufacturing boom happens at the exact same time, it's NOT his doing!
Only the bad things that happen under Biden's watch are his doing.
007 -- you get the prize for the deflection attempt of the year. amazing. the numbers are right there in front of you -- yet you just can't bring yourself to admit the truth. Bravo.

illtaketwoplease - You get the prize for the hypocrisy post of the year. Amazing. The claims of the Trumpers from early 2017 are right there in front of you -- you just can't bring yourself to admit the truth that I'm doing nothing more than Trump fans were doing 4 years ago. Bravo.

it's terribly interesting that you believe
a. all members of some "tribe" think alike
b. think any local job expansion or business expansion that occurs with no input/influence from DC gets credited to the POTUS.
There are a few republicans who can think rationally, but they're in the minority.
