I think it's one of them. Happy to discuss others which I would certainly consider mattering but thought that pointing out the US and their *massive* lead in that category as being worth noting since it is one of the counter-arguments used against countries that are more socialistic in nature.
Post some up and let's discuss the other important metrics. Healthcare would be the obvious big difference between the US and other countries. Things like education however are often brought up and after we dig into the facts (like what the German "free college" system actually means) they tend to disappear because they only have a cursory knowledge and "free college" sounds all great to them until they find out what percentage that is and where the others end up.
