Well, that's what leaders do and she has been assigned that job. Who knows?? Not much has been reported because there is nothing being done to report. That is finally beginning to filter into the news. Do you not remember what both she and Biden along with the rest of the Dem candidates did during the primary debates, all raising hands for open borders. They don't want to keep these people out unless it becomes politically unfavorable. Now they are trying to decide who they want to placate, the American voters or the Latinos (future voters). While they are weighing the consequences of both, they are doing nothing at the border, just hoping people will stop noticing.
A trip to the border accomplishes nothing as we have seen with the republican photo op. She needs to do the hard work negotiating and solving this problem at it's source in the northern Central American Countries.

The republican "photo op" brought more change to the border than seen in the last decade. It's unfortunate you view visits to catastrophic events only as photo ops. What progress do you think will be made if those given the responsibility of solution won't show up?

That may not even be a long term solution considering how many trips she has made to the norther Central American Countries, or number of conversations she has had.
Two total.
Here is an interesting excerpt:
Biden will meet with Guatemalan President Otto Pérez Molina, El Salvador President Salvador Sánchez Cerén and a Honduran representative, Coordinator General Jorge Ramón Hernández Alcerro, to discuss the marked increase in the number of children showing up at the U.S.-Mexico border on their own.
The White House announced the addition to Biden’s schedule in a Sunday phone call with reporters.
A total 47,017 unaccompanied children arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border between Oct. 1 and May 31st, according to Customs and Border Patrol statistics. Of those, 34,611 were from Guatemala, Honduras or El Salvador. The remainder were from Mexico. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...ildren-n132221
This was in 2014 when Biden was VP. We can see his results, or lack of, today, but at least he made the trip. Anyone expecting more from Harris has their head in the clouds.
The immediate problem is not at the borders of Central American Countries. It is at our border with no relief in sight. At a time when we hear of toddlers dropped across the fence, a young boy walking through the desert saying he was part of a group but they abandoned him, a young girl drowned as she tried to swim across the river, Harris has been out doing photo ops. (you know, those things that actually accomplish nothing)
Another excerpt:
"Instead, in her first two weeks as czar, she has traveled to Connecticut, Chicago and home to California over the Easter weekend and has presided over swearing in ceremonies, touted the administration’s coronavirus stimulus package and the COVID response, visited vaccination sites, lunched with the president, attended a Cabinet meeting, and held listening sessions with faith leaders and small business owners, her public schedule showed.
Asked at the White House briefing Wednesday about when Harris might travel to the border, press secretary Jen Psaki said there were no trips on the schedule.
The Biden administration’s undoing of former President Donald Trump’s border policies has prompted a flood of Central American and Mexican illegal migrants at the US border.
Central Americans looking for refuge from the Northern Triangle countries — El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala — have taken these policy moves, as well as the overwhelmingly more welcoming tone from Democrats, as a sign that Biden is inviting them to cross the border.
The vice president’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
Asked on March 22 if she planned to visit the US-Mexico border amid the unfolding humanitarian crisis, Harris responded, “Not today,” before letting out a belly laugh. “But I have before, and I’m sure I will again.” https://nypost.com/2021/04/07/two-we...hasnt-visited/
Yeah, me too.

Send the cackling hyena to the border and she might scare the children into not crossing. They'd run away screaming " Bruja Loca! Bruja Loca!" back to Central America.
Yes. Put someone else "in charge" since she isn't, and either is he person who was actually "in charge" at the border...she quit.
