So I guess you would say Biden is Trump's legacy. Obama served two terms. If he was allowed to run for another term then perhaps he would have been re elected. On the other hand, Trump only served one. I know this kills him and his supporters.

You trying to figure out who is awful ... might consider your characterization of a straight up pure bred 50/50 white irish/kenyan born in the USA is somehow 'African American ' Your thread smells of ignorant racism. Why didn't you call him an Irish American? Or simply an American? or not bother with such designations altogether? Don't bother to answer, I know.

I honestly agree. I didn't mind his second term, but America between the two coasts was definitely not ready for the social changes that occurred. The coastal left really underestimated the resilience of the Christian Right during the Obama years.

Obama was fine as politicians go. Congress was awful.

If that was the case, Hillary would’ve won. Folks were over the Obuma project.

So far, historians are considering Obama a pretty good president overall. He tends to be in the top 25%.

'Historians' do these lists for political pandering. Don't kid yourself, they mean nothing.

Barry was a junior senator prior to becoming president. In 4 years in Congress, 4 of his sponsored bills became law.

S. 906 (110th): Mercury Export Ban Act of 2008
S. 1513 (110th): Predominantly Black Institution Act of 2007
S. 2125 (109th): Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act of 2006
S. 3757 (109th): A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 950 Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois, as the “Katherine Dunham Post Office Building”.

link

None of his sponsored bills did much for the benefit of most Americans. His legislative history is unremarkable. Prior to running for president, he was best known for giving the keynote address at the DNC convention in 2004.

Most US politicians wouldn't have had much of a chance to be elected president with such a mediocre record.

And she still lost. Perhaps she should’ve planned better and left the Deplorables out until after the election. Still remember her and the Dems, media, etc..., all but guaranteeing a win. Loved that aftermath.

And that would matter if popular vote were real. But the States (and DC) elect the executive.

Believe it or not, 51 states and territories are mighty generous allowing an internal popular vote, as it's not mandated in the Constitution

Anyone who thinks Obama was uniquely terrible, was smoking something. Realistically once you factor in the fact that Congress Stonewalled his entire agenda, and the ACA was middling at best. He's probably in the top 20-25 presidents. Maybe just outside the top 10 on a good day, and just outside the top 20 on a bad day. Economic decisions alone he's better than Bush and Trump although you could argue the economic state isn't either of their fault (but that's how Presidents tend to get ranked). Foreign Policy he struggled somewhat, Libya generally isn't considered good and it's probably the largest L he took. But the entire post 9/11 focus on Counterterrorism is almost as large an L, as the previous Anti-Communist, (Cold War/Vietnam/Korea) era. American foreign policy has bee questionable since 1950-ish, compared to previous generations.
