Did it not occur to you that maybe if he helped their countries they won't come here in such large numbers?
No, apparently it did not.
Has it occurred to you that we have tried that approach? We have dumped billions into South America, Haiti, Mexico, etc. Money wont fix the problem because we cant control how those crap holes use it.
In many Central American nations, you can do precisely that. Costa Rica, for example, is a popular place for Americans to move to.
I am not talking about Costa Rica, and you damn well know that. So an American citizen can own ocean or even waterfront in Mexico? Do you even have a remote idea about that which you speak? Does Costa Rica offer birthright citizenship for my children? Do i have a path to citizenship? Of course not it’s all designed so they can reneg on the deal once you empty your wallet.
Just so you know I have been involved with relief efforts in most of these places.

And as I already pointed out, in the case of Mexico, which is the Latin American nation we have helped the most (largely via NAFTA), it has actually worked:

Since the nations of Central America are much smaller than Mexico, if we extended policies like NAFTA to Central America, we would be able to much quicker address their problems than we did with Mexico. Right-wingers are so busy trashing poor people crossing the border they're incapable of noticing that these policies helping other nations actually work, it just takes a while.
If you really want to prevent people from immigrating to the US from Central America in large numbers, the most effective thing to do would be to do something like extend NAFTA (or whatever it's called these days) to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
he has been there for 3 months and look at all the cr@p he wants to pass. It wasn't bad enough his record since 1973. We get what we vote for.
Except we didn’t vote for him, there was voter fraud in a few key states to swing it. Trump was winning GA by 110,000 votes with 99% reporting and somehow lost it in the dead of night. Now they are flooding the zone trying to sweep it under the rug

Only in the delusionary fantasies of Trump and the Trumpers.
