Asian racism is well known and widespread dating back to well before they had hardly any interaction with white people.
To this day, a still largely insular Japanese population has high levels of racism towards blacks, fillipinos and so forth.
But here we have this professor pandering under the guise that blacks just can't help themselves by thinking independently and are still being controlled by whites.
In most cases, the professor would be deemed racist but in this instance he's pandering to extremists and offering them the absolution they need to avoid facing the problem.
