It is a shame, she made a bad mistake in the moment and now she will suffer the rest of her life. Sad also for the man she killed, all changed in a fraction of a second.
Like road rage. I remember this when some idiot pisses me off on the highway.
Perhaps the criminal bast^*d should not have committed a high stress criminal act or showed up for Court when he was supposed to.
When people take a calm routine traffic stop, and possibly turning it into felony resisting arrest, you are creating stress and forcing the police to engage in spontaneous knee-jerk reactions, and invite hasty decisions that might result in tragedy, just as we saw with Wright. It's common sense, follow directions, be polite, do not escalate.

Agreed.
I have one question for the those who think this was just some white cop out executing black men.
How many interactions do you think Kim Potter had with black men, in TWENTY SIX YEARS she was on the force, where no one was killed under questionable circumstances?
She certainly waited a long time to take our our racism on Wright.
Not being up on MN law, Manslaughter seems appropriate...it's lower than Murder (unlike Chauvin who clearly intended to kill George Floyd)...Potter accidentally killed this man by being stupid and grabbing the wrong weapon...a Taser would have been appropriate use of force, not a gun...so Manslaughter to me seems very reasonable.
2 lives ruined because one decided to act like an idiot instead of owning up and taking responsibility for what he did.
I guess the message here is that cops from now on should look the other way when black people break the law because it is not going to end well for anyone.
No, but they absolutely know the difference between a handgun and a taser.
That happens. People are charged with negligent homicide for more than just shootings.
Which is why I have made posts citing automobile accidents. You make one stupid mistake and you can kill someone. There goes the rest of your life, all in an instant. Someone has to pay for that death, and you will because you did something stupid or negligent and killed someone.

This had nothing to do with race. It was a mistake.
