In a nutshell, it is basically saying “any expectations of performance for POC are wrong”. If you expect a level of performance you are racist. WTF is the US coming to? China will own our ass in a few years because of the cancer of progressives.

The irony is they don’t even know how racist their plan is. Basically saying POC can’t live up to expectations. It’s insane.

For those who do not wish to read the OP link, here are a few highlights. All of the following are direct quotes (my italics):

"We see white supremacy culture show up in the mathematics classroom even as we carry out our professional responsibilities outlined in the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). Using CSTP as a framework, we see white supremacy culture in the mathematics classroom can show up when:

• The focus is on getting the “right” answer.
• Independent practice is valued over teamwork or collaboration.
• “Real-world math” is valued over math in the real world.
• Math is taught in a linear fashion and skills are taught sequentially, without consideration of prerequisite knowledge.
• Procedural fluency is preferred over conceptual knowledge.
• “Good” math teaching is considered an antidote for mathematical inequity for Black, Latinx, and multilingual students.
• Rigor is expressed only in difficulty.

(end first excerpt)

I could debate the necessity for every one of the above, but what the heck does "real world math is valued over math in the real world" even mean? And ditto for "good math teaching is considering an antidote for mathematical inequity for Black, Latinx, and multilingual students".

And here are a couple of other suggestions for teachers that appeared further down (quote, my italics):

• Identify and challenge the ways that math is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views.

• Expose students to examples of people who have used math as resistance. Provide learning opportunities that use
math as resistance.

This is an atrocity. Every single sane American should be up in arms over this.

Why stop at declaring math as racist? Just say EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD is racist and be done with it.
