No kind of gun control will prevent gun violence. There are too many guns, to many ways to get guns, and someone bent on destruction won't have any qualms of getting guns illegally.
We don't need assault weapons in our society. Every country that banned them saw a reduction in mass shootings and in shootings over all.
I thought the Vegas thing would end it. Nope, they would rather get mowed down occasionally than give up their right to assault guns.
Not sure it would have been easy to know where to shoot back if armed while at the Las Vegas concert, and one would want to take cover before firing back. Do that didn't appear easy.
WE had an assault rifle ban in the 90s that was fairly effective and nobody was talking about confiscating all guns back then...go back to the assault rifle ban and ban high capacity magazines.
That's exactly what we should be doing. But flyover country wants us to live with their right to have mass shootings.

Every single country that passed gun control had a reduction in gun violence. Every single one still has shootings BUT A LOT LESS. Do you think they should legalize all guns and somehow make things better?
3rd world don't count, they don't have law enforcement.
A gun is more than just a weapon in this country. It's a cultural symbol. That's why this topic is not even open for discussion in our politics. And to be fair, banning the private ownership of firearms is a far-left fringe position that few people subscribe to. If anything, the issue of guns is one of the more bipartisan issues that we have. However, to even discuss this issue is seen as an assault on a certain culture and beginning of a slippery slope that will result in a total ban.

Mexican drug cartels love coming to the US where they can get guns!
