The family and FBI knew of his problem but it appears he was protected by the 2nd Amendment.

CNN)Police arrived "to a very chaotic scene, with victims and witnesses running everywhere" at a FedEx Ground facility near Indianapolis' main airport late Thursday night, where a former employee shot and killed eight people and wounded several others, an Indianapolis police official told CNN.

Deputy Chief Craig McCartt on Friday afternoon identified the gunman as 19-year-old Brandon Hole, who was last employed by FedEx in 2020.
Hole was found dead of a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted, McCartt said.
In March 2020, Hole's mother told law enforcement that he might attempt "suicide by cop," the FBI's Indianapolis office said in a statement.
Special Agent in Charge Paul Keenan said Hole was placed on an immediate mental health temporary hold by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He also said a shotgun was seized at Hole's residence.

Sounds like he'd had mental issues and previously had run ins with the law. I wonder if he had passed the background check to buy a gun because he'd slipped through the cracks due to Obama's Promise program, like happened with the FL school shooter, Cruz.

Your contention is that if the 2nd Amendment didn’t exist the crazy guy would have been unable to harm other people?

Since it said that he was randomly shooting at people, I thought it was just a coincidence that several of them were Sikhs! But then I read that 90% of employees at this bus8ness are Sikhs? How can this be? Do only Sikhs apply for jobs there? Do only Sikhs get hired? I could see if it was a small business owned by a Sikh, but it’s Fed.ex...

Yes that's true it slipped through the court system because of the second amendment. I'm not against gun ownership but the process makes it difficult to remove guns from people that have no business owning one.

Brandon Hole, 19, had his shotgun taken away in March 2020 after his mother raised concerns about his mental state, records show. But he was able to legally make gun purchases just months later.

In March 2020, the police seized a shotgun from Mr. Hole after his mother raised concerns about his mental state, records show. But, Chief Randal Taylor said, the fact that Mr. Hole was legally able to make the more recent gun purchases indicated that — despite his mother’s warning and the police seizure of a gun — the authorities had not deemed him subject to Indiana’s so-called red flag law, which bars people from possessing a firearm if they are found by a judge to present a dangerous risk.

It would be nice if we could keep guns away from the crazy, violent types, but then how could they govern us?

You didn’t answer the question. Had the 2nd Amendment not existed and Hole had been unable to get a firearm, would that mean he was unable to harm other people?

That is quite a hypothetical to which there is no clear answer, it would most definitely help if he didn't have a firearm although he certainly could have killed someone. The second amendment makes it more difficult for both law enforcement and the courts to separate crazy people from guns.

To be blunt, in an area with a substantial religious community like Sikh, Mormon or Islamic....the reason you'll find them concentrated at such a facility is because it pays decently, word of mouth from the family and most importantly THEY CAN PASS THE DRUG TEST.

Cannot tell you how much trouble they have in the area I grew up in getting workers that can do that.

Not arguing policy, just a likely reason for a high concentration of a religious group.
