Democratic governed states are full of hopelessness, dispair and massive income inequality. Once someone recovers from their issues in Democrats they are treated to confiscatory tax scheme sent direct to the greedy government unions and six-figure state pensioners.

17,415 overdose deaths in 2000 and CDC predicts 90,237 in 2020.

Democratic Louisianna up 54% in one year!
Democratic Kentucky up 50% in one year!
Governor Jared Polis Democratic Colorado up 43% in one year!
Governor Gavin Newsom's Democratic California up 40% in one year!

Republican Governor Kristi Noem's South Dakota which is full of freedom down 5%!

So what? Lots of people love to indulge in drugs in the highly Republican state of Oklahoma, since Republicans have made it such an incredibly boring state with lots of low paying jobs. The minimum wage is still a measly $7.25. Therefore your thread quite vastly fails with its attempted point. By the way, who wants to move to South Dakota? NOBODY? I thought so!

You think people do drugs because they are low paid and/or bored?

Yeah, they may even become drug pushers, because they can make more money doing that than working at McDonald's.

One federal agency is responsible for this (DEA).

More people need to hold them accountable for their failure and collusion.

If some other Govt agency was so incredibly ineffective as the DEA are...citizens would be calling for them to be defunded, but for some reason, people continue to support and believe the DEA? (I dont get it!)

HOW BAD does it need to get, before people recognize they are not working for our health or safety...(but instead, protecting and shielding foreign criminal organizations who supply all these drugs).

Thanks to the DEA, the drug cartels now weigh their cash in dump trucks instead of counting it. LOL

People have been doing drugs for thousands of years. Long before this system and way of life existed. The reasons why are far more complex than McDonalds not paying $25/hr or whatever you believe is right and proper.

The reality is, McDonalds could pay 1 million dollars an hour, and many people would still willingly choose to use drugs. Elon Musk is one of the richest men in the world, and he has no problem smoking pot on camera for the whole world to see. Plenty of people live in exciting, vibrant liberal cities, holding good paying jobs, and they are using drugs like cocaine like it's going out of style. So please, spare us the lecture on how republicans and their ideology/way of life are the reason people choose to use drugs. Your logic is clearly flawed.

Looking at the latter link with 12-month stats, I don’t see much correlation between political leanings and percentage of OD death increases. Sorry bub. Not really working for me here.

You're so wrong. When you live in California, you got lots of distractions from wanting to get high on drugs, such as going to the beach, going skiing, hiking the mountains and going to Disneyland just for starters. As a result, California, the state conservatives love to hate is ranked no. 40 for drug use.

Some Californian cities are littered with used syringes and human excrement. You can tell us what you want to believe, but most people make judgements based on what they see and experience. California very obviously has a booming market for recreational drugs. Are you so simple minded that you believe people do not use drugs while going to the beach or doing other outdoor activities? Do you also believe people are incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time?

I'm sure Californians on here will tell you their cities are far from littered with syringes and human excrement and that they have the good sense to stay out of small, isolated areas where that stuff may be found.
